The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has invited bids from national, multinational agencies and corporates for licensing out advertising rights inside MRTS stations (Barakhamba Road to Dwarka, excluding Rajiv Chowk) on Line 3. The contract shall be awarded for a period of five years and an EMD of Rs 20 lakh is required.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has invited applications from OOH agencies for empanelment for the J&K telecom circle. The empanelled agency/ agencies will be responsible for BSNL's marketing and publicity activities, including advertising in outdoor, print and electronic media. The selected agencies shall be empanelled for a period of two years.

MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority) has invited sealed bids from the outdoor agencies, for leasing out the commercial rights to display advertisements on 15 FOBs (foot over bridges) on Eastern and Western Express highways in Mumbai. The tender has been divided in two packages. The package one consists of six FOBs located on Eastern Express Highway and package two consists of nine FOBs on Western Express Highway.

Percept Out-of-Home has had its hands full creating the buzz for Indigo Nation’s range of ‘reversible’s clothes during the recently concluded IPL season. The OOH agency has also been selected to handle Levi’s ‘Change your World’ campaign that celebrates completion of 15 years of the denim brand in India. Both the accounts were awarded to Percept OOH following multi-agency pitches.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd Mumbai has invited the media arms of its empanelled agencies – EuroRSCG, Percept Media, Prachar Media and Mudra Max – to pitch for its media duties. The telecom giant has also called for an OOH pitch. According to industry sources, the cumulative account size is in the region of Rs 150 crore.

The Delhi Outdoor Advertisers Association (DOAA) Executive Committee met on May 7, 2010, where the issue of clearing of outstanding dues by defaulter media buying agencies came up. Decision was also taken to continue with the old rate for membership fee of the Association till June 7, 2010.

Outdoor today is being seen as much better organised than what it used to be a decade back. Delhi itself has had some kind of regulation coming into effect, which has helped the cause of outdoor advertising. I don’t think the government is being negligent about it, but I would say they are waking up to the fact that outdoor could be a great revenue earner for them. At the end of the day, media owners have to self regulate if this business has to survive long enough and move towards becoming a more organised and professional industry.

After hectic bidding, Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL) has awarded the licence for its new airport terminal (P3) for advertisement locations at Indira Gandhi International Airport to Times Innovative Media Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Entertainment Network (India) Ltd (ENIL). TIMPL operates its OOH media business under the brand name Times OOH.
