Mudra Connext, a unit of Mudra MAX (Integrated Communications Planning & Implementation) has been chosen to handle the media mandate for travel portal Travelguru. The account size is estimated at upwards of Rs 10 crore and the operations will be carried out of the agency’s Mumbai office.

Tata Motors’ Sumo business moves from Maxus to Lodestar Universal

Tata Motors Ltd has assigned the media duties of its Sumo vehicle to Lodestar Universal. Prior to this development, Maxus India had handled the Sumo business. The media buying accounts of the separate brands of Tata Motors have been handled by Lodestar Media and GroupM’s Maxus India.

CavinKare moves fruit juice brand Maa from Bates 141 to Rediffusion Y&R

CavinKare has appointed Rediffusion Y&R Chennai to develop the new communication campaign for its fruit juice brand Maa on a project basis. The development has been confirmed by Davinder Singh, Business Head - Beverages, CavinKare. With this CavinKare is moving out of the AoR system by breaking its works into projects. The account was being handled by Bates 141 Chennai, which had bagged the business in March 2009.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which unveiled its new brand name – ‘Aadhaar’ – and logo last month, is now scouting for an agency to handle its creative and media duties. The pitch was called last week and it is known that agencies like Span Communications, Lowe, Rediffusion Y&R, Dentsu and Percept are in the fray for the business. Industry sources have pegged the account size at over Rs 100 crore.

Jaypee names Pencil as its 360 degree communication agency

Jaypee Greens, the infrastructure and industrial conglomerate, has decided on Pencil Inc to handle the 360 degree advertising for its ‘Golf and Spa Resort’ project. The pitch was called in March and the decision came in the first week of May. McCann Erickson, Oxygen Communication, Dentsu, and Green Goose were among the agencies that were vying for the business, which ultimately has gone to Pencil.

LIC Mutual Fund calls for creative and media pitch

LIC Mutual Fund is on the lookout for creative and media partners. Pitching for the business are the empanelled agencies of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India – RK Swamy, Mudra Communication, DraftFCB+Ulka and JWT India. The media arms of these agencies would handle the media part of the business.

Equinox, a division of ZenithOptimedia, has been assigned the media duties for Mitsubishi’s portfolio in India, including Outlander, Lancer, Cedia, Pajero and Montero. The win comes on the back of a multi-agency pitch. Senior sources close to the development have confirmed the win and pegged the account size at Rs 30 crore. Contract Advertising remains the creative agency for Mitsubishi.

ICC ropes in Ogilvy Mumbai as advertising partner for World Cup 2011; biz worth Rs 250 cr

It is known from sources close to the development that International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to go with Ogilvy Mumbai to handle the 360-degree advertising for World Cup 2011, which is slated to be jointly held at three venues – India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. It is learnt that the communication was sent to agencies via email by ICC. The account size is estimated to be upwards of Rs 250 crore.

Spice appoints Ogilvy as its creative partner

Spice has appointed Ogilvy to handle the creative duties of its mobility businesses comprising handsets & devices (Spice Mobiles), telecom retail (Spice Hotspot) and mobile VAS (Spice Digital). The win comes on the back of a multi-agency pitch involving leading agencies, including Lowe Lintas, Draftfcb+Ulka, Publicis, Bates141, Everest, Capital and incumbent agency Contract, besides Ogilvy. The pitch process had kicked off in February-end and was concluded by mid-April.

National carrier Air India has reportedly narrowed down its search for creative agencies to four following a multi-agency pitch. The strong contenders in the race to be empanelled include DraftFCB Ulka, RK Swamy BBDO, Mudra and Lowe Lintas. It maybe recalled that in July 2009, Air India had called for the initial round of the pitch, while in October 2009, the final rounds had taken place.
