OMD has been given the wireless data and DTH part of the business, while MEC has been given the entire wireless mandate, which includes voice, 3G and other offerings. The business moves from Mudra Max. Industry sources peg the combined ad spends to be in excess of Rs 400 crore.

Balaji Telefilms has decided to hand over the creative mandate for its upcoming motion picture projects to Rediffusion Y&R. No pitch process preceded this development. The incumbent agency was Marching Ants. This win comes close on the heels of Rediffusion Y&R bagging the creative duties of DNA in June 2010.

OMD India is ending a good week. Earlier this week, the agency had bagged the media business of Venus Water Heaters. And now, textile company Sangam India has appointed OMD India as it media AoR for its new textile brands. The combined account size of the two businesses is in the vicinity of Rs 18 crore.

Venus Water Heaters has appointed OMD and Rubecon as its media and creative agencies, respectively. The incumbent media and creative agencies are Mindshare and JWT, respectively. No formal pitch preceded these wins and the company has appointed both the agencies based on their credentials and track record.

Starcom Worldwide has been assigned the media mandate for Radio One. The Director of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, has invited expression of interest (EOI) from ad agencies for handling its outdoor, print, audio and digital advertisements by offering complete solutions through creatives, media planning, media buying, for ad requirements of the department across various media formats. According to industry sources, the account size is pegged at Rs 300 crore.

TME was the incumbent media agency and had been handling the account for the past eight years. The account size is pegged at Rs 50 crore.

Making a change after five years, L’Oreal India has decided to hand over the print, television and radio mediums to Maxus. Lodestar UM would continue with digital. Neither of the agencies will handle the OOH medium for the client. The development was confirmed by Vismay Sharma, Director, Consumer Products Division, L’Oreal India Ltd. Industry sources have pegged the business in the vicinity of Rs 130-150 crore.

RK Swamy BBDO has been assigned the creative duties of Valvoline Engine Oils. RK Swamy BBDO competed against agencies such as Draft FCB Ulka and Capital Advertising to win this medium-sized business. The agency will be handling brands across all product categories for Valvoline and is developing an integrated campaign for the company.

Bates 141 has won the entire Monte Carlo account. The win comes on the back of a multi-agency pitch that saw the participation of nine agencies, including Law & Kenneth, Publicis, and Saatchi & Saatchi, besides Bates 141. It is learnt that JWT, the incumbent agency, did not take part in this pitch. Industry sources have pegged the account size in the region of Rs 15-20 crore.

Law & Kenneth Chennai has been assigned the creative mandate for Renault India. The win comes on the back of a multi-agency pitch that saw Saatchi & Saatchi and Publicis Ambience also in the fray in the final round. According to industry sources, the business is pegged at Rs 50 crore. Meanwhile, the media business is currently under review and a decision on a media agency is expected soon.
