Following a multi-agency pitch, telecom solutions provider Huawei Telecommunications (India) Co Pvt Ltd has appointed Mudra Communications as its creative partner. The pitch was reportedly called in June 2010 and the agencies in the fray included Lowe Lintas, Ogilvy India, TBWA, Bates 141, Saatchi & Saatchi, PerceptH and Mudra, among others.

Hygrevar Home and Hearth Ltd, a leading real estate company in South India, has appointed TBWA\India as its communications partner. TBWA\India’s Chennai branch will handle the account. No formal pitch preceded this win. The business is expected to be worth around Rs 7-8 crore, according to industry sources.

Following a multi-agency pitch, investment manager DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund has divided its creative business between Lowe Lintas and Taproot India. JWT India was the incumbent agency and had shared a long relationship with the brand since 1996. Motivator continues to be the media agency for the brand.

In its bid to strengthen its position in India, PS Bedi Group, a well-known name in the logistics business, has chosen Noshe Group as its 360 degree advertising partner. The logistics company had called for a pitch that had seen the participation of quite a few agencies, including Noshe Oceanic.

The agency has bagged the creative duties for clients like Mitashi Edutainment, Camlin Ltd (2mm mechanical pencils), Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital and Gold Genie India, among others. The agency was started by Dhaval Mehta eight years ago.

Amidst existing rumours of Rediffusion retaining the creative mandate for Yatra.com, the news of TBWA\ becoming the new creative partner for the travel portal has come in. According to senior sources in the industry, TBWA\ has replaced the incumbent agency to pocket the business pegged in the region of Rs 15-20 crores.

MTS India, the CDMA mobile telephony service from Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd (SSTL), has put is media mandate on review. There were no official comments from the company at the time of filing the report, but industry sources informed that the review, which is a part of the company’s processes, had already begun. The incumbent on the business is MPG.

Putting all speculations to rest, Airtel has moved its creative business to JWT India. Senior sources close to the development have confirmed the news to exchange4media. With this, Airtel has ended its 15-year relationship with Rediffusion Y&R. The Airtel account has been pegged at Rs 400 crore.

Blackberrys is an award winning and a leading formal wear brand in India catering to the youth. The account will be handled out of the Delhi office with inputs from all the other teams. Tata Teleservices is re-evaluating its creative mandate. It is learnt that while the process includes only the roster agencies Contract Advertising and DraftFCB Ulka, McCann Erickson too was invited to make a presentation. The evaluation is only for Tata CDMA, Tata Photon and Walky businesses. There would be no change in the media mandate, which is handled by Lodestar UM.

Biscuits manufacturer Unibic India has appointed MediaCom to handle its media mandate. There was no formal pitch for the business. Industry sources peg the account to be in the vicinity of Rs 10-12 crore. The win comes close on the heels of MediaCom Bangalore winning the Royal Orchid business. Grey Worldwide handles the creative duties for Unibic India.

Coca Cola India, that had initiated a review of its media duties last month, has decided on its media AoR. In the wake of a multi-agency pitch, the business has been awarded to Lodestar UM. The development breaks the 11-year old relation that Coca Cola had with Madison Media. Industry sources peg the business upwards of Rs 200 crore. Coca Cola officials have confirmed the development to exchange4media.
