It appears that the most controversial pitch of 2010 is finally nearing a conclusion. Reckitt Benckiser is said to be parking its Rs 200 crore upwards media business with ZenithOptimedia. The FMCG major is in the process of making the shift. Neither the agency officials nor the client have confirmed this development yet.

PerceptH has bagged the Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Ltd account following a multi-agency pitch that saw the participation of five agencies. The account size is pegged at around Rs 10-12 crore. TBWA and Xebec were the incumbent agencies on the business. The account also includes Ishanya Mall, Deepak Fertilisers’ retail property.
Dentsu India’s flagship full service and fully integrated agency, Dentsu Marcom, has won the advertising duties for the Smartclass brand from Educomp Solutions, India’s largest education company providing diversified education solutions.

Reckitt Benckiser has recently shifted the global creative duties of two of its newest brands – Durex and Scholl – to its lead advertising shop, Euro RSCG Worldwide. Following this development, Euro RSCG India has been assigned the creative mandate for Durex and Scholl in India.

Greenpeace, the global organisation that aims to protect and conserve the environment, has appointed Maxus India as its media AOR on its business in India. The business will be handled out of Delhi. Greenpeace has already initiated the 10-10-10 project with Maxus as its agency.

OMD India has added three new businesses to its kitty. The agency has bagged Cleartrip.com and SAH Petroleum businesses following multi-agency pitches. The agency has also added Paramount Farms. Meanwhile, OMD’s digital arm too has won a slew of new businesses. Sources peg the combined account size of the media AoRs and digital wins to be in the vicinity of Rs 70-75 crore.

Ending five years of its association with Euro RSCG, the Dainik Bhaskar Group has shifted its account to Meridian. Euro RSCG had won the business in the year 2005. It is learnt that Belmonte, the economy menswear brand from S Kumars, has invited a few agencies to pitch for its creative mandate. Currently, the brand doesn’t have any creative agency on board. There will be no changes in the media duties and Mindshare will continue to be the media AOR on the business.

Following a multi-agency pitch, Span Communications and Dentsu Marcom have won the 360 degree communication mandate for the Election Commission of India. PerceptH, Crayons and Concept were the other agencies in the fray for that business.

i-Mint, the loyalty management solutions provider from ICICI Ventures Group, has decided to get a new agency on board to handle its creative mandate. Law & Kenneth is the incumbent agency. It is believe that the company has invited a few agencies for presentations, including the incumbent.

Gitanjali Group has been realigning its creative agency for two of its brands. The group has decided to hand over Asmi brand to PerceptH from JWT India. PerceptH has also been assigned the creative mandate for newly launched Shuddhi Jewels, a joint venture between Gitanjali Group and MMTC Ltd. The cumulative account size for the two brands is estimated in the range of Rs 14-15 crore.

MediaVest, a division of Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG), has bagged the Amar Remedies Ltd (ARL) media business. The incumbent on the business was Prachar Communications. MediaVest will handle the complete portfolio on the business. It is learnt that no pitch process preceded this win.

It is learnt that Pune based Suzlon Energy is reviewing its creative business and has invited two or three agencies to pitch for the business. Apparently, the presentations on the pitch have already been made and that the decision will be taken soon, most probably after Diwali. Dentsu Media continues to handle the media business for the brand.

Tata International Ltd, the global trading arm of the Tata group in leather and leather products exported, has announced its foray into footwear retail. The company has launched ‘Tashi’, a footwear retail chain. Taking this forward, Tata International has appointed ZenithOptimedia and Leo Burnett India to handle its media and creative business respectively. The appointment came through a multi-agency pitch.
