After a stint of over 11 years, Ravi Kiran, Chief Executive Officer, South East & South Asia, Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) and Chief Executive Officer, Asia, Specialist Services, Starcom MediaVest Group has decided to bid adieu to the organisation. SMG officials have confirmed the development to exchange4media.
Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd (SSTL) has roped in Ashoo Sethi as Chief Operating Officer for the Mumbai and Maharashtra circle. Sethi will be reporting to Vsevolod Rozanov, President and CEO of the company. He will be responsible for further stimulating business growth for the company.

Prior to this, she was working with Microsoft India as Marketing Manager, where she was driving marketing for Microsoft’s share warrior brands in the consumer space – Internet Explorer and Windows Mobile. Besides this, she also established the comprehensive social media strategy for the Consumer & Online business and pioneered some ‘connected marketing to sales’ and CRM programmes for the Windows business that were subsequently rolled out in multiple countries globally as best practises.

In his experience of over nine years, Pradeep Yerargi has worked with key brands like Fevicol, Castrol, Chevron, Reliance GI, IndianOil, Bajaj Pulsar, Traffic Police of Mumbai, Marico, and Star Union Dai-Ichi, to name a few, across agencies like Ambience Publicis, Ogilvy, Everest and Rediffusion Y&R. Rishi Upadhyay comes with an experience of over 11 years. His longest stint was with Publicis Ambience, where he had worked on businesses like Marico, Westside, Nerolac, Reliance Mobile, and P&G, to name a few.
Big FM has elevated Gaurav Sahai as Radio Operations Head for Delhi. In his new role, Sahai will be reporting to Soumen Choudhury, National Business Head, 92.7 BIG FM. Sahai was Marketing Head, Delhi for one and a half years prior to his elevation. He will be leading the Programming, Marketing and Technical teams, besides leading the planning and execution of ATL and BTL activities, including on-air spikes, outdoor campaigns and mall branding in order to achieve Station CUME and TSL targets.
In another change of guard at the India Today group, Mohini Bhullar has decided to move on as Executive Director, Corporate Affairs, effective September 30, 2010, after a long innings spanning over 40 years. It is not known where the media industry veteran is headed next.
Divya Gupta has put in her papers as Business Head, Mumbai, at HT Media Ltd. She was reporting to Salil Sadanandan, Business Head - West and South, who has confirmed the news and added that Gupta had quit due to personal reasons.

Srinivasan Iyengar has joined Express Avenue, a strategic venture of Express Infrastructure, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Express Newspapers Pvt Ltd, as Business Head - Events and Advertising. Iyengar will be based in Chennai and will take care of entire mall events and advertising operations. He will also be responsible for planning and developing marketing plans for the brand in the context of mall branding. Prior to joining Express Mall (South India’s biggest mall located in Chennai), Iyengar was Business Manager – South, Ad space media, one of the leading Indian Ad sales companies.
Nirmal Pulickal, former Associate Creative Director, Wieden+Kennedy, has joined Mudra Communications as Creative Head, North and East. He will report to Bobby Pawar, Chief Creative Officer, Mudra Group, and oversee the creative output in the two regions for all the agencies under the group, including Mudra India, DDB Mudra, Mudra Max and Ignite Mudra. Pulickal has 12 years’ experience in advertising. He had started his career in 1998 with a short stint at Clarion (now Bates141). Over the years, he has worked on brands such as Nike, Royal Enfield, Chevrolet Beat and Cruz, Incredible India, Indigo, Singapore Tourism, Citibank, Asahi Glass, United Colors of Benetton (UCB) and Cornetto Walls, among others.
Big Productions, the TV content creation division of Reliance Big Entertainment, has announced the appointment of Jayesh Patil and Bimal Unnikrishnan as Head of Fiction and Non-Fiction, respectively. In their new roles, Patil and Unnikrishnan will be responsible for their respective functions and will report into Sarvanan P, Business Head, Big Productions. With over 16 years of rich creative work spanning writing and creative direction of Hindi fiction shows, Patil has to his credit over 4500 of television episodes that he has penned. Unnikrishnan began his career 15 years ago as a trainee director with Zee Television. His work experience pans leading production houses ranging Miditech, UTV Television and The Right Picture as a Senior Creative Director.
Everest Brand Solutions has brought in Romeen Yarkhan as Executive Creative Director, Copy, to head its Creative Department in Mumbai. Yarkhan moves from DraftFCB Ulka, where he was Creative Director since 2008.
It is learnt that Shankkar Aiyar has quit India Today as Managing Editor. Aiyar had been with the India Today Group for over 13 years. Rumour circles were abuzz with talks of Aiyar’s promotion. The cause for his parting ways with the India Today Group is not known yet.
Manish Shandilya has joined Beehive Communications Pvt Ltd as Head of PR. He will be looking after the company’s operations across the nation. He moves from Madison PR, where he has spent close to three years handling businesses including P&G, Parle Agro, and Godrej Sara Lee, among others. An MBA, Shandilya had started his career at Aditya Birla Group and has also worked with Sampark PR.
India News, the 24x7 Hindi news channel from the ITV group, is going in for a major revamp and is soon launching its second regional news Channel, India News Bihar. The task for the revamp as well as the launch of the new regional channel has been given to Raveen Thukral, who was hitherto heading ITV’s India News Haryana as its Managing Editor.
