IRS 2010 Q1: Top five radio stations see decline in listener base in Bangalore

As per the IRS 2010 Q1 data, while Big FM, Radio City and Radio Mirchi have emerged as the top radio stations in Bangalore, it is Radio Indigo, the English radio station, that has impressed the most with a whopping 75 per cent increase in its listener base. However, the top five radio stations in Bangalore have witnessed a decline in listenership.

According to RAM (Radio Audience Measurement) data for all female 12 plus, all places of listening, Radio Mirchi continues to lead among female listeners in Kolkata, closely followed by Big FM. Friends FM continues to rank No. 3, Aamar and Fever FM are competing for the fourth slot.

Following at No. 2 is Big FM which is a distant second. My FM, which is ranked ninth, has emerged as the fastest growing FM station in India.

Radio Misty revamps Sikkim station; marketing budget pegged at Rs 5 lakh

Time is ripe for FM Phase III rollout, but is the industry ready?

RAM Rambling: Radio Mirchi continues lead in Delhi, but Fever FM catching up

According to the latest RAM data from week 50 of 2009 to week 11 of 2010, in the SEC ABC 12+ category for the Delhi market, Radio Mirchi continues its lead, followed by Fever FM and AIR FM2 Gold. Interestingly, though the ratings of Mirchi saw a marginal decline, it dramatically picked up in the last two weeks.

Its nearest rival, Radio Mirchi, is a distant second, though the FM station has managed to make slight gains in its ratings in the last two weeks. The top two are followed by Fever FM, Radio City, Red FM and Radio One.
