The I&B Ministry convened a meeting on the proposed Broadcast Bill on September 7, 2007 that was attended by all stakeholders of the broadcast sector. The I&B Minister has reiterated the need for regulations for the broadcast industry and further stated that aspects of the industry such as the ratings system would also come under the scanner. Industry members were of the opinion that there should be regulator who should be autonomous.
