I&B Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi informed Lok Sabha on Monday that Letters of Intent for 239 private FM channels had been issued and that the total revenue earnings from both government and private FM stations as on August 2, 2006 stood at Rs 675.06 crore.

Radio Mirchi listeners now have all the more reason to be “khush” as the popular FM station will now be available on a common frequency – 98.3 FM – across Bangalore, Jaipur and Hyderabad with effect from August 1, 2006. The station is already available on the 98.3 frequency across Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
