Venkatesh Kini has been appointed Vice-President, Coca Cola India. He replaces Vikas Gupta, who had quit as VP-Marketing, Coca Cola India, on June 30, 2006. The appointment is effective from September 1, 2006. Kini moves from Atlanta, where he was VP, Sprite and Flavors Brand Business Unit in Coca-Cola North America.

Radio One FM 94.3 kicks off in Bangalore from August 1, 2006 as a local station. The FM station would be the first to offer a mix of Kannada and Hindi music, with the entire programming package celebrating the spirit of young Bangalore with Kannada roots.

Bangalore-based Media Mindscapes has bagged the OOH business of the soon-to-be-launched 125cc bike from the Suzuki stable. The size of the business has been pegged in the region of Rs 5 crore. The creative and media duties of the new bike are being handled by Grey Worldwide, Delhi.

Radio Mirchi listeners now have all the more reason to be “khush” as the popular FM station will now be available on a common frequency – 98.3 FM – across Bangalore, Jaipur and Hyderabad with effect from August 1, 2006.
