The Media Users’ Research Council (MRUC) has signed a three-year contract with Hansa Research for the forthcoming editions of the survey. However, a unified study from the MRUC and National Readership Studies Council is planned for 2010. MRUC and NRSC officials state that that the MRUC-Hansa contract would make the latter the preferred partner for the study, but the brief is still open to other agencies.

Omnicom agencies have slowly but steadily been expanding their footprint in India, and it is now DDB’s turn to strengthen its presence here. In conversation with exchange4media, John Zeigler, President & CEO, DDB Asia Pacific, Japan & India, informed that DDB, along with local partner Mudra, is all set to make the DDB brand more visible in Indian, and this includes the launch of a second DDB agency. The deadline is end of 2009 or early 2010.

Bank of Maharashtra has further expanded the roster of agencies for its creative, media, events and PR duties. It is learnt that the latest to join the list of empanelled agencies are Ogilvy India and PerceptH. The agencies already empanelled are: Lintas India that includes Lowe Lintas and Lintas Media Group, Rediffusion that includes Rediffusion Y&R and TME, Crayons and Goldmine. The client, however, is still tight-lipped about the development.
