The gaps between the top players have been fluctuating and unlike last week, when Star Plus and Colors were very close to each other, in week 52, Star Plus has shot up to 292 GRPs. Colors is at 233 GRPs and Zee TV is at 230 GRPs

Images Group launches ‘Salon’ and ‘FNL Central’ magazines in India?blur=25

The Images Group, publishers of ‘Go’ and ‘M’ magazines, has expanded its bouquet with the launch of two more magazines – ‘Salon’ and ‘FNL Central’ – which hit newsstands earlier in December. ‘Salon’ is priced at Rs 200 and is targeting a circulation of 50,000 copies. ‘FNL Central’ is priced at Rs 25 and will be available only at Central malls.

Noshe Oceanic eyes billings worth Rs 150 cr in 2009?blur=25

The economic slowdown notwithstanding, Noshe Oceanic has claimed to be growing at a rate of 50-60 per cent on a year-on-year basis. The agency’s President, Asheesh Sethi, told exchange4media that Noshe Oceanic had set a target of Rs 150 crore in billings for 2009. Its current billings stand at Rs 80 crore.

Samrat Dasgupta?blur=25

Lowe has promoted its Creative Director Samrat Dasgupta to the post of Regional Creative Director to handle Unilever’s ice-cream business – Walls. In his new role, Dasgupta will be based in Bangkok. He will be reporting to Pablo Monzon, Global Creative Director, Lowe, Madrid (LOLA). The global Unilever ice-cream business is handled out of Madrid. Dasgupta started out as a copywriter with Euro RSCG, Delhi, in 1999, then moved Euro RSCG, Mumbai in 2002. He joined Lowe in 2003. He then joined Bates for a year and eventually returned to Lowe to handle Unilever Foods (Kissan Amaze) and Hair (Clinic Plus) across Asia. He is currently also handling the India leg of the Unilever ice-cream business (Kwality Walls) and Pepsodent.

Khushroo Suntook?blur=25

The governing council of the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) has appointed Khushroo Suntook as Chairman. He was earlier Vice Chairman of the Centre. The position of Chairman had been vacant since the passing away of NCPA Founder, Creator, Chairman and Trustee-In-Charge, Dr Jamshed J Bhabha, last year. Descended from a distinguished lineage of judges and lawyers, Suntook, although a qualified lawyer by training, decided to embark on a career in business. He was a founder of Bisleri India, and then he moved to the Tata Group in various senior capacities and still continues as a Director in some of the companies. In addition, Suntook is the founder of the first professional symphony orchestra in India. He has been a ranked tennis player with wide experience in the administration of sports.

We are here for a certain cause, way or a desire to reinvent the agency; to be in the advertising communication space. We also believe that this industry is very far from the next evolution space and that is our biggest excitement. The kinds we are doing in the professional space as well as the organisational space, I don’t think it is usual in the industry.
