Arun Kapur, who has been spearheading the Telecom business of Quipo Telecom Infrastructure Ltd (QTIL) since its inception, would henceforth shoulder a larger role and responsibility by stepping into the Board of QTIL and is being appointed as Managing Director, QTIL. Kapur, in his capacity as Group President & MD, Telecom, will continue to mentor the telecom business, with his pioneering role in telecom tower business. As already reported by exchange4media, the mantle of leading the QTIL team henceforth moves to Probal Ghosal who joins as CEO.

Prior to O&M, he heading the New Business Development team at TD&A/DDB in Dubai.

Shantanu Mukerji has been appointed as Country Manager-India of Ermenegildo Zegna Group, the men’s luxury clothing company. Mukerji will be responsible for the development of the Ermenegildo Zegna brand in India and will report to Alessandro Raniolo, MD, Ermenegildo Zegna, South East Asia and Oceania Region. Mukerji joins Zegna from LVMH watch and jewelry, where he was Regional Manager, South Asia, for five years and was directly involved in the development of the LVMH watch & jewellery brands in India and the South Asia Region. Prior to LVMH, he held a regional marketing position with Nike in Singapore.

Dr L Venkata Subramaniam, Research Staff Member, IBM India Research Lab, writes that the bulk of ad spends have been in outbound telesales calls and pushing of SMS and MMS ads to users. But research indicates that there is a lot of resistance to such advertising from consumers. They generally accept advertisements on their mobile phone in return for 'free' media and applications on their handsets. Users now also want information, applications and rich media on their phones.

The I&B Ministry has cleared the licenses of B.A.G. Films and Media Ltd’s forthcoming satellite channels – E24 and Bliss24. Informed sources have confirmed this to exchange4media. E24 is the entertainment channel of the company, while Bliss24 is the channel that would deal with mind, body and soul, and is expected to be launched in the second phase.
