Roshan Tamang, VP - News, Sports and Entertainment, has reportedly put in his papers at Web18 and is likely to join the Times Group. Tamang had joined Web18 in July 2005 and is currently serving his notice period. This week is said to be his last working week at Web 18. Prior to joining Web18, he was with Times Internet Ltd as News Editor.
Mediaedge:cia (MEC) has appointed Rashna Pochkhanawala as National Director – MEC Interaction. Prior to this, she was General Manager – Digital at Hungama Digital Media. In her new role, Pochkhanawala will report to T Gangadhar, Managing Director, MEC India, and to Ben Poole, Head of MEC Interaction, Asia-Pacific.
Reliance Media World Ltd has elevated Tarun Katial to the post of Chief Executive Officer of Big FM with immediate effect. He was COO, Big FM, prior to this elevation. Katial will now report to the Board of Directors and continue to be responsible for the radio business, that is, Big FM along with the SBUs – Big Live, Big Reach, Big Street and Big Events.
After a nearly four-year stint with Red FM, Abraham Thomas has quit the FM station as COO. Thomas had reportedly put in his papers three months ago and had been serving his notice period since then. It is also learnt that an internal mail on Thomas’s departure has been sent out to the Red FM staff. No announcement has been made so far on Thomas’ replacement.

Karl Gomes has bid adieu to Rediffusion Y&R, where he was National Creative Director – Digital. He had joined the agency a year ago in November 2008. On his future plans Gomes said that he was taking on individual projects that had had an interesting purpose agenda. “I will be picking up best freelance projects that come my way,” he added.
Rukin Kizilbash, GM, Taj TV India (Ten Sports) has put in his papers after having served with the channel since its inception in April 2002. When queried as to his next move, Kizilbash refused to divulges much besides saying, “all will be made clear soon”. Unconfirmed sources said that it was within the sports media space, however, no further details are currently available.
After spending more than two years at Contract Advertising, Manish Bhatt, Senior VP and ECD, has put in his papers and is serving his notice period till November-end. While Bhatt will be pursuing his political dreams in his home state of Gujarat, it seems Contract Advertising is in no hurry to find his replacement.
Vijay Jacob, who recently put in his papers as Senior VP, South and Head of Bates141 Chennai, is slated to join Grey Bangalore as Vice President, South. This development has been confirmed by Jishnu Sen, COO, Grey India. It is learnt that Jacob will move his base from Chennai to Bangalore now.
Vizeum India (Aegis Media Group Company) has expanded its team with the appointments of Harit Pant and EM Sreeneelakandhan (Sreekanth) as GM, North and GM, South, respectively. Vizeum had commenced its India operations in June 2009 and has already added accounts like Luxor Writing Instruments and Giovani to its kitty.
Kashmira Chadha, Director – Marketing, at Coca-Cola India has recently put in her papers. She had joined the soft drink major in 2006-end and was responsible for marketing of the Coca-Cola brand for three years. A Coca-Cola spokesperson has confirmed the news and said that no replacement had been named yet.
Shyju Varkey, National Marketing Head of Radio One, has been given additional responsibility of Publisher of Mid-Day Bangalore. Both Radio One and Mid-Day belong to Mid-Day Multimedia Ltd.
Radio One has appointed Martin King as the Chennai Station Head following the exit of LV Navaneeth. Prior to joining Radio One, King was the Head of Sales at Radio City, Chennai and Coimbatore.
MediaCom India has brought in Ashwini Kamat as General Manager, Mumbai. Kamat would also be overseeing Strategic Communication Planning, Research, Insights functions across all MediaCom clients.
Balaji Motion Pictures has roped in Vikram Malhotra as COO to head its motion pictures division. Malhotra moves from Kingfisher Airlines, where he was the Marketing Head.
Starcom Worldwide has roped in Sriram Sharma as General Manager to head its Bangalore operations. Sharma takes over from Ashwini Kamat, who moves on from the organisation after spending over eight years. Sharma’s last stint was with OnMobile Global, a VAS company in the mobile space.

D'mello will partner NP Sathyamurthy, President & COO of Lintas Media Group, to elevate LMG's offering to the next level to their clients. His last stint was as Head of Marketing & Communications at Reliance Money, the broking and financial services arm of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.

UTV Broadcast (Entertainment) channels has roped in MK Anand as CEO. He had quit as Business Head of Zoom in September 2009. At UTV, Anand will also head its four entertainment channels – UTV Movies, UTV Bindass, Bindass Movies and UTV World Movies. He will be reporting to UTV Founder Ronnie Screwvala.
Kings XI Punjab is all set to get a new CEO. The Mohali-based IPL franchise is reportedly in the process of finalising Anil Srivatsa as CEO. A decision in this regard is expected to be taken this week. The Kings XI Punjab CEO will be reporting to the Board of Directors.
