Broadcast software company RCS has been working with Nokia to roll out the next generation visual radio experience for radio listeners and cell-phone users worldwide. Visual radio enables mobile device users to receive FM radio broadcasts with fully synchronised interactive graphical content.

ENIL Q2 revenues up 30 pc at Rs 53.2 crore; net down 87 pc at Rs 64 lakh

Entertainment Network (India) Ltd (ENIL), promoters of Radio Mirchi, has reported a 30 per cent rise in its revenues at Rs 53.2 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2007. The company’s net profit has, however, dropped 87 per cent to Rs 64 lakh, while EBITDA stood at Rs 8.2 crore.

Racist remark row: Red FM allowed to air till next hearing on November 13

TDSAT has ordered a stay on the ban imposed by the I&B Ministry on Red FM, whereby the radio station will continue to be aired at least till the next hearing on November 13, 2007. The TDSAT will have to rely on the Indian Penal Code to determine whether the remarks on ‘Indian Idol’ winner Prashant Tamang made by an RJ of Red FM were derogatory or not, since there are no existing guidelines.

TDSAT allows I&B Ministry to proceed against Red FM, but orders stay on 7-day ban

Following the show cause notice issued by the I&B Ministry to Red FM for an allegedly derogatory remark made by an RJ against ‘Indian Idol’ Prashant Tamang, the TDSAT on October 1 has allowed the Ministry to go ahead with its proceedings against Red FM. However, until the next hearing before the TDSAT on October 4, the Tribunal has ordered a stay on the seven-day ban that the Ministry has imposed on Red FM.
