Mi Marathi, the Marathi general entertainment channel from Broadcast Initiatives Ltd, is creating freshness with an all-new programme line-up. Starting March 23, 2009, the channel will have as many as 14 new shows. Plans are afoot to kick off an aggressive campaign through hoardings, TV and print close to the launch of the new programmes.

After a two-year alignment, Starcom Worldwide and The Future Group have decided to end their relationship. It is understood that this was a mutual parting of ways by both the companies. In the meanwhile, Allied Media has added Future Group to its kitty. There was no pitch process involved in the development.

Starcom MediaVest Group’s (SMG) plans to launch the MediaVest brand in India are near fructification. It is learnt that SMG will launch MediaVest Worldwide in India by April 15, 2009. It is also understood that SMG has found an internal candidate to head the business. Sources suggest that Dinesh Singh Rathore, who has so far been heading FutureWorks for the agency, would be heading MediaVest in India.

Kini’s elevation to this global role is a recognition of his marketing leadership. He has over 17 years of marketing, sales and general management experience. His previous assignment was as Vice-President, Sprite and Flavors Brand Business Unit with Coca-Cola North America, which he held since September 2005. Coca-Cola India now enjoys market leadership in four out of the five beverage categories in India.
