‘Radio needs to showcase its power of the medium’?blur=25

Globally, radio has been a more tactical medium, which is closer to the point of sale. There have been successes, but we haven’t been able to put a finger on it and say this is the way radio can be used. Largely, the onus lies on radio players like us to propagate and educate about the medium. Radio needs to showcase its power of the medium, says Jayyant Bhokare, COO, Radio Indigo.

Platinum Media bags Rs 25-cr media business of NDTV Imagine?blur=25

GEC NDTV Imagine has appointed Platinum Media, the media brand of Madison Group, to handle its media mandate. The business moves from Maxus. Industry sources expect the business to be easily upwards of Rs 20-25 crore. In the meanwhile, there is no change in the creative mandate, which continues to remain with McCann Erickson.

Much as was expected, the latest TAM numbers see a widening of the gap between Star Plus and Colors again. Star Plus has scored 317 GRPs in the week, while Colors is at 271 GRPs. Zee TV has 209 GRPs, Sony is at 75 GRPs, Star One is at 63, and NDTV Imagine is at 61 GRPs. Sahara One is at 49 GRPs this week, while SAB at 47 GRPs and 9X is at 31 GRPs.

Layoffs and cost cuts at BCCL as it prepares for a rough year ahead?blur=25

Bennett, Coleman & Company Ltd (BCCL) is arming itself to brave out the year ahead. BCCL’s top management has issued some stern directives to cut down on the company’s costs in every way possible. The steps include pink slips handed out to executives across functions, and across the BCCL print operations in the various markets. Even as BCCL officials were not available for comments on the report, sources from the company have said that the next few weeks would see the company let go of more of its executives.
