Javed Akhtar is joining Zenith Optimedia as Media Director from February 25. His last stint was with GroupM as Investment Group Head for a year. He worked mainly on the Nokia account. He was basically responsible for media buying for print and radio. Akhtar has previously worked for Indian Express Group as Account Planner for four and a half years. He also had stints with The Hindu for two years and Amar Ujala for four and a half years.

I think when it comes to the operational level, the systems and processes that enable efficiency, that enable the culture of response and diligence is lacking. But as the blending happens and as more as more flatness comes across, those barriers have to disappear. It's a highly competitive market and India doesn't necessarily have to be competitive because of the low wages.
