Facebook has tied up with 200 news outlets for a dedicated news tab on its platform, as per media reports.

This tab will focus on the relevant national stories of the day.

Facebook has been reported to be paying $3 million to licence headlines and previews of news articles.

"There are two things that I'm quite excited about. One is just building a dedicated product space for high-quality news. And the second is having a business partnership with news publishers that I think can be sustainable over the long term," Mark Zuckerberg was quoted as saying during an earnings call.

Meanwhile, Facebook has said, as per media reports, that it will soon launch its payments service WhatsApp Pay in India.

Zuckerberg however has not given any specific timeline for the launch. "We have our test going in India. The test really shows that a lot of people are going to want to use this product. We're very optimistic that we're going to be able to launch to everyone in India soon, but of course will share more news when we have that," Zuckerberg further said.
