Pradyuman Maheshwari?blur=25

Pradyuman Maheshwari, Editor of Pune-based Maharashtra Herald, has put in his papers. This veteran journalist is all set to join DNA next week as Senior Editor and will also be on the paper’s Editorial Board. He replaces B. V. Rao who quit last month, and will head DNA’s front page and City coverage. Maheshwari had done a longish stint with Mid-Day in the nineties. He left Mid-Day in 2000. He subsequently started Mediaah!, a blog hosted on blogspot.com, which went on to become a source of media gossip. Forced to shut down Mediaah! for lack of revenues, he joined Maharashtra Herald in 2004. The newspaper was revamped under his supervision, but Maheshwari believes that “it is time I took up a new task”.

Anupama Chopra, who quit Rediffusion PR last month, has joined joined EMAAR MGF Land Pvt. Ltd. as Head-Corporate Communications. Emaar MGF Land is a joint venture formed by MGF Developments Ltd and Emaar Properties PJSC, Dubai (promoted by the Government of Dubai) -- the world’s largest listed real estate company. The JV has brought in the largest FDI in real estate in India, amounting to over half a billion dollars for projects with a capital outlay of $4 billion (Rs 18,000 crore). Chopra joined Rediff PR in 1995 as Senior Account Executive, moving from Mudra PR. She was elevated to Associate VP in January 2004, and took over as VP in June 2005.

FMCG growth slows down in December?blur=25

According to a Morgan Stanley report, the slowdown in December '05 was partly on account of the high base reported in December '04, which was the only month in three years that witnessed double-digit sector growth.
