JWT Mindset, Janrise Advertising and Doo Creative sweep ADEX 2013 Awards

Organised by the Ad Club Hyderabad, 500 entries were received across 34 categories this year as compared to 400 entries from 27 agencies last year

JWT Mindset, Janrise Advertising and Doo Creative sweep ADEX 2013 Awards

Winners of ADEX 2013 for excellence in communication and media, organised by the Ad Club Hyderabad, were felicitated at a ceremony held at Taj Deccan, Hyderabad on September 19, 2014.

A total of 500 entries were received across 34 categories this year as compared to 400 entries from 27 agencies last year.

JWT Mindset was the biggest winner of the night, taking home a total of 12 metals including eight golds and four silvers. JWT Mindset also won the Agency of the Year, Best Continuing Campaign of the Year for Chirec International School, Copywriter of the Year for AP Tourism and Art Director of the Year. The other notable brands for whom JWT Mindset won the awards are Mintop (Dr Reddy’s), Botanika, Charminar (HIL) and Orient Electricals.

Speaking on the win, Ram Gedela, Managing Director, JWT Mindset said, "The awards reiterate that we are the best creative agency in Hyderabad and another area where we win for our brands reinforcing the faith clients have in us.”

Janrise Advertising was the second agency that bagged 11 awards including seven golds, four silvers for Fiziken, U Telecom, Mulpuri Aqua, GVK One and Nagarjuna College. Photographer of the Year award was awarded to Janrise Advertising.

Chaitanya Boyapati, Managing Director, Janrise Advertising said, “The team has been constantly focusing on ideas which reap and the company has believed the same. For us, the core objective lies helping our clients drive sales from ideas and the campaigns that we deliver. Clients stay with us only when our ideas work for them.”  

The third winner was Doo Creative with a haul of 11 metals including four golds and seven silvers for Sakshi Media Group, Women’s World, North Star Homes, Shree Nikethan, Vasavi Group, Dry Fruitz Basket and ISB. Illustration of the year was also awarded to Doo Creative.

T V Prasad, Managing Director, Doo Creative said, “Last year, we were 'Agency of the Year', and this year we bagged 11 metals. It's fantastic to win consistently at ADEX. Have added many a new client in the last couple of months, and with this recognition, we look forward to great days ahead.”

Speaking about his association with ADEX, Nitin Mulay, President, Ad Club Hyderabad said, “I have been associated with the Ad Club for over 20 years. Seen and worked with many stalwarts. It’s a great honour and a matter of pride for me to be elected as the President. For the next year, we want to encourage more local agencies to participate and showcase their work. Definitely make the show bigger and better.”

About this year's entries, Mulay added, “The quality of entries this year was better than the previous years. The emergence of smaller creative outfits shows a very promising future for advertising in Hyderabad. Happy to see younger talent getting attracted towards advertising”

The entries were adjudged by some of the bigwigs from the communications business, led by K V Sridhar of Sapient Nitro, Thomas Xavier of Orchard Advertising and R Sridhar of Brand-Comm.

This year ADEX saw special jury award as the jury felt some of the works were exceptionally good and deserved a special mention.

Advertising professional and art collector Swapan Seth has announced the launch of his new book COOL. The book is described as "a ready reckoner to the hip and the happening, of the known and the very unknown."

The book is a reflection of the author's "eclectic taste across categories: from boltholes to exotic hideaways."

COOL has been published by Simon & Schuster India and is available on Amazon.

Seth is an ad veteran with a long and illustrious career in the industry. He became the youngest-ever Creative Director at Clarion at age 24. He was VP at 26 at Trikaya Grey. Two years later, he started his agency Equus.

He writes for publications such as The Economic Times, Hindustan Times and India Today. This is his second book and he has previously published THIS IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY.

Disney Star signs 9 sponsors for Asia Cup PAK

e4m Staff Disney Star has signed nine broadcast and digital streaming sponsors for the upcoming Asia Cup.

Charged by Thums Up, Nerolac Paint+, Amazon Pay, Jindal Panther, My11Circle, MRF, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, Wild Stone and Thums Up have come on board for the upcoming tournament.
As reported earlier by exchange4media, Disney Star has sought Rs 26 crore for the co-presenting sponsorship on TV and Rs 30 crore for Disney+ Hotstar.

According to industry sources, the associate sponsorship on Star Sports has been priced at Rs 19.66 crore, whereas for the ‘powered by’ sponsorship on Disney+ Hotstar, the broadcaster is seeking Rs 18 crore.

As per the information available with exchange4media, Disney+ Hotstar has three sponsorship tiers-- co-presenting (Rs 30 crore), powered by (Rs 18 crore) and associate sponsorship (Rs 12 crore). The broadcaster is offering an estimated reach of 120-140 million for co-presenting sponsors, 90-100 million for powered by and 60-70 million for associate sponsorship.

A spot buy for 10 seconds has been priced at Rs 25 lakh for the India vs Pakistan matches, while for the non-India matches, the ad rate for 10 second is Rs 2.3 lakh. The India matches plus the final for ODIs has been priced at Rs 17 lakh per 10 seconds.

Asia Cup is scheduled to be held from 30 August, 2023, to September 17, 2023.
