Naresh Gupta, former National Planning Head of Publicis India, has joined Dentsu Marcom as Planning Head. He will be based out of Delhi and will report to Rajesh Aggarwal, President, Dentsu India. Aggarwal has confirmed the news.
After spending 28 years with Delhi Press, Dinesh K Srivastava has moved out of group. He was working as Group Business Manager, responsible for national business activities. Srivastava has not yet disclosed his next destination.
Anuraag A Fulay has put in his papers at BBH India. He now joins Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC) as VP, Marketing & Business Development. Fulay will be based out of Mumbai. He brings with him over 13 years’ experience in advertising, event management, exhibitions and road shows.
Loveleen Raina, who currently heads the Unitech Wireless business for Leo Burnett Delhi, has put in her papers. She is joining McCann Erickson Mumbai as Vice-President and GM in February. Meanwhile, Rahul Mathew, currently Creative Head at Rediffusion Y&R (Mumbai), has been roped in to head one of the units, along with Akshay Kapnadak, currently Creative Director, McCann Erickson. The two appointments come at a time when McCann Erickson (Mumbai) restructures itself into two units –McCann Erickson One and McCann Erickson Two. Both will have separate P&Ls, account profiles, resources and business development initiatives. Prior to Leo Burnett, Raina was Regional Business Director on the Motorola account at O&M, responsible for South Asia. She has previously worked in McCann’s Delhi office, joining as Senior Account Executive in 1998, exiting in 2004 as Brand Leader. As for Matthew, prior to Rediffusion Y&R, he was with JWT, Leo Burnett, Enterprise Nexus and Ogilvy Healthcare. This is his
Nomad Films has roped in Joshua Upputuru as producer. Upputuru moves from O&M, where he was Account Director. In a career spanning seven years, he has worked with brands such as Tata Motors, Fanta, Hyundai, Seagram's and Oral B, among others. This is Upputuru's first stint in the ad film production industry.
Rediffusion Y&R has announced the appointment of Kavita Kailas as Planning Head, Mumbai. Kailas brings with her over a decade of rich advertising and marketing expertise, with proficiency on brands across diverse categories ranging from financial services to FMCG to social services. She had started her career with Advertising Avenues in 1999, and has worked with numerous brands such as McDonald’s, Axe, Clinic, Lifebuoy, P&G Feminine and Hygiene Care, and HDFC Standard Life Insurance, to name a few.
Neena Haridas will take over as Managing Editor of Marie Claire India from February 1, 2010. Haridas replaces Shefalee Vasudev, who quit Marie Claire India in October 2009. However, Vasudev will be taking care of the magazine till the end of this month.
Rajat Sethi, Managing Director, Dentsu Marcom, has put in his papers. He had joined the agency on September 24, 2009. Sethi is yet to decide on his next destination. Meanwhile, no decision has been taken on his replacement at Dentsu Marcom yet.
Swasti Bhowmick has quit Rediffusion Y&R as Chief Financial Officer. He had joined the agency in October 2008 and was managing the finances all group companies – TME, Wunderman, Showdiff, Rediffusion Public Relations, OAP-Touchpoint, Everest Brand Solutions, Sudler& Hennesey, and Rediffusion Y&R India as well as Sri Lanka operations.
Innocean Worldwide India has roped in Vikram Banerji for its account planning function. Banerji replaces Sujith Sudhakaran, who had quit the agency as AVP - Planning to join DraftFCB.
Six Inches, a creative and integrated brand communication agency, has announced mid-level management appointments to strengthen its creative and account management team. The company has appointed Reshma Basankar as the Art Head, Zohara Kapadia as the Copy Head and Saket Vaishnav as Business Head.

Working as Director Engineering at ibibo.com, Bhatnagar was responsible for the product architecture and was a core team member in defining the overall vision and strategy for the business.
Edelman India has announced the appointment of Varghese Cherian as National Practice Leader – Technology, based in its Gurgaon office. Cherian joins Edelman from Hanmer MS&L, where he was Vice President, South and Practice Head – IT. At Edelman he will be reporting to Robert Holdheim, Managing Director and Country Head, Edelman India. Cherian will be responsible for existing client relationships, migration of global technology mandates of Edelman to India, growing the practice and building Edelman India as one of the top PR firms in technology practice in India.
WAN-IFRA, the global, industry organisation for the newspaper and news publishing industry, has announced the appointment of Christoph Riess as the new Group Chief Executive of the enlarged WAN-IFRA industry representative body. This appointment follows the merger of the World Association of Newspapers and IFRA during 2009. Riess will take charge from February 1, 2010.
Carat Media has appointed Rajni Menon has as Associate Vice President for its Mumbai office. Prior to this, she was with ZenithOptimedia. Menon will report into Kartik Iyer, Managing Director, Carat India.
Viacom18 has announced some key changes in its organisation structure. Rajesh Kamat has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer of the Viacom18 Group. Ashish Patil is moved from MTV to Kamat’s team as Sr. VP- New Ventures and GM - Youth Movies. INX Media’s Vikas Verma has joined Viacom18’s youth channel, as the head of Creative & Content – brand MTV.
Cathay Pacific Airways has announced the appointment of CK Yeung as its new General Manager, Corporate Communication. He succeeds Dane Cheng in the role following the latter’s move to Sydney to take up the position of General Manager, Southwest Pacific. In his new position, Yeung has overall responsibility for all public and media relations, public affairs and general communication issues for Cathay Pacific globally. He also oversees the company’s main corporate social responsibility programmes. Prior to taking up his current position, Yeung was Director of University Development and Public Affairs at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, engaged in activities covering publicity, publications, marketing, media relations and strategic communication. He began his career as a TV journalist in 1979. In subsequent years, he took up a variety of communications roles within the Hong Kong Government and other major public bodies in the city.
McAfee India Sales Pvt Ltd has announced the appointment of Ambarish Deshpande as Director – Alliances, Channels & Mid Market for South Asia. In this role, he will be responsible for driving McAfee’s mid-market business and strengthening the company’s relationships with its partners in South Asia. With more than 15 years of experience in the security industry, Deshpande brings to McAfee extensive experience in growing new businesses and driving growth through channel and enterprise sales. Deshpande joins McAfee from IronPort Systems, a Cisco business unit, where he was the Country Manager responsible for growing its business in India. Prior to that, he was heading Symantec’s channel sales in India and he has also worked at Tech Pacific Technologies, an Ingram Micro company.
ZenithOptimedia India has appointed Dnyanada Chaudhari as Managing Director for West and South. Chaudhari joins from Hindustan Unilever Ltd where she was Head-Media Services India. She took harge on January 13, 2010 and reports to Satyajit Sen, the CEO of ZenithOptimedia India.
Sachin Bhatia, Co-founder, MakeMyTrip, has decided to move on. He is starting his own venture. However, he will continue with the company for at least a month and will also continue to be a shareholder in the company and be involved strategically.
