Shakti…Astitva Ke Ehsaas Kii sweeps five awards at the 5th COLORS Golden Petal Awards
The evening honoured stellar performances by actors and top-notch technical experts from the fiction as well as non-fiction genres

A transgender’s struggle for her identity, the trials and tribulations of a misunderstood God, making ‘Indiawale’ the true heroes of the country, and introducing an app-based LIVE singing reality show. These are just some of the different narratives introduced by COLORS in 2016, which have received strong audience support. The leading Hindi General Entertainment Channel has, over the past year, unlocked entertainment avenues through its path-breaking lineup of fiction and non-fiction offerings. Honouring the outstanding talent across genres, COLORS, on Wednesday, celebrated the 5th COLORS Golden Petal Awards in a star-studded event.
As the entire COLORS family came together to toast the best performers, the power was put in the hands of the viewers to select their all-round favourites. The awards will be telecast later this month.

Celebrating five glorious years of the Golden Petal Awards, this year, the viewers were transported to a ‘Snow Wonderland’. With the theme being straight out of a fairytale, the evening was a visual extravaganza that saw Bollywood and TV biggies like Jacqueline Fernandez, Malaika Arora, Diljit Dosanjh, Mouni Roy, Rubina Dilaik, Juhi Parmar, Ssharad Malhotra, Salil Ankola, Sidharth Shukla, Jasmin Bhasin, Mohan Kapur, Adaa Khan, Sudha Chandran, Roshni Sahota, Helly Shah, Jigyasa Singhand, and many more walk the red carpet.

The performances at the 5th COLORS Golden Petal Awards witnessed some of the viewers’ favorite television stars showcase exhilarating acts which combined graphics and technology to create a high-tech 7D experience. The evening was hosted by Farah Khan and Karan Johar, who were joined by Raghav Juyal and Rubina Dilaik. Bharti Singh and Maniesh Paul held the audiences captive with her impeccable comic timing, not missing a single opportunity to poke fun at Karan Johar’s new dad status. Mouni Roy’s enthusiastic opening performance to ‘Nachange Saari Raat’ set the tone for a truly sizzling evening.
Filling the air with love and romance were Indian television’s favorite jodis, Sooraj (Vijayendra Kumeria) and Chakor (Meera Deosthale), Harman (Vivian Dsena) and Saumya (Rubina Dilaik), Parth (Sidharth Shukla) and Shorvari (Rashami Desai) as they set the stage on fire with their scintillating act.
Entering the retro zone, Rising Star expert Punjabi singing sensation Diljit Dosanjh performed some of yesteryears’ chartbusting numbers along with the leading ladies of the COLORS family. And, Diljit’s fellow Rising Star expert Monali Thakur grooved with some handsome hunks as they performed to remix songs. The lip syncing face-off between the judges Jacqueline Fernandez, Karan Johar, Ganesh Hedge, and Malaika Arora proved to be the ultimate battle which raised the overall hotness quotient of the evening. The awards night also witnessed the never-ending battle between Indian television’s two favourite Naagins, Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan, as they performed to blazing hot numbers like ‘Laila Main Laila’ and ‘Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast’. The night ended with the young Shani (Kartikey Malviye) charming everyone with his power packed performance to ‘Har Har Mahadev’ alongside choreographer Salman Yusuf Khan.

TikTok partners with Bhumi for #CleanIndia campaign
As part of the partnership, TikTok has launched a #CleanIndia challenge on its platform
TikTok has collaborated with independent and youth volunteer non-profit organisation, Bhumi, to launch the #CleanIndia Campaign. The campaign aims to mobilise TikTok community to contribute to the Swachh Bharat Mission to achieve universal sanitation coverage and draw focus on it in the country.
As part of the partnership, TikTok has launched a campaign #CleanIndia on the platform to encourage users to participate in this challenge by cleaning their neighbourhood and showcasing their work on TikTok by posting before and after videos.
Bhumi will conduct and host cleanliness drives across multiple cities pan India to encourage TikTok users and citizens to volunteer in this mission.
