Magazine publishers have always decried the results of the Indian Readership Survey (IRS), stating that the numbers are not always representative of the actual readership. While there is still uncertainty on which is the most relevant metric – AIR or TR – for measurement of magazine readership, the question also arises on how magazines that are not registered with the MRUC get measured.

Prabhu Chawla to quit India Today Group; set to join The New Indian Express?blur=25

Well known journalist and Editor (Languages) at the India Today Group, Prabhu Chawla, is set to move out of the group. Industry sources have confirmed that Chawla is joining The New Indian Express newspaper. While it is not known what would be Chawla’s designation, he will be replacing Aditya Sinha, who is joining DNA as Editor-in-Chief from January 17, 2011.

Punjabi daily Ajit has retained its leadership position with a marginal growth. Punjab Kesari is the most read Hindi daily in the state, while The Tribune is the most read English daily.
