A P Parigi retires as MD ENIL; to continue as Non Executive Director?blur=25

Following a stint of over nine years with the Times of India Group, A P Parigi on Saturday, August 1, 2009 decided to step down as the Managing Director. The Board of Directors of Entertainment Network (India) Limited (ENIL) is said to have ‘reluctantly’ accepted Parigi’s decision. Parigi will serve as MD of ENIL up to September 30, 2009, and will continue to be associated with the company as a Non Executive Director.

The Hindu has decided to discontinue with the print edition of its free tabloid Ergo. The tabloid will be available in its online avatar only at www.goergo.in from August 1, 2009. The decision to discontinue with Ergo’s print edition brings to the fore the effects of the economic slowdown, especially the adverse impact on advertisement revenues.

DishTV Q1 revenues up 53 pc; added 0.44 m new subscribers too?blur=25

DishTV has reported a 53 per cent growth in revenues at Rs 2,521 million for the first quarter ended June 30, 2009 over the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal. The DTH service provider has also claimed to have added 0.44 million new subscribers in Q1 FY10 as compared to 0.35 million during Q4 FY09.

NMK Mohan Rao has quit Andhra Jyothi’s Delhi office, where he was AGM, after serving in two terms – between 1992 and 1997 with the then management, and subsequently after the relaunch by the new management, from 2002 till date. Rao was responsible for key development of Andhra Jyothi in the Delhi region and provided a stable business growth despite the current slowdown in the industry.
