The Lokmat Group, one of the key media houses in the Maharashtra market, has announced the State’s first ever IPL-style cricket event – LMCC – which will be held in November. The event is being organised under the auspices of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). All the matches would be day and night affairs and would be played over 12 days.

Sanjay Sharma is being re-designated as Director Operations at Network18 and COO, IBN Lokmat. In his new role, Sharma will be responsible for all technical and operations related matters of the broadcast, web and print businesses in the Group. And in his role as COO of IBN Lokmat, which informally Sharma was performing since the launch of the channel, he will look after the business aspects of the channel. Sharma began his career with New Video Ltd as a customer support engineer in 1990. Meanwhile, Piyush Gupta has been re-designated as CTO - Broadcast and Operations Director. In his new role as CTO – Broadcast, Gupta will continue to look after the technical matters for the broadcast businesses in the Group, while as Operations Director, he will be responsible for all operations related matters in the Noida office. He will also be responsible for all new projects along with Sharma.
