There has been a top level change at Radio Mirchi’s marketing function. National Marketing Head Kavita Bagga has moved out of Radio Mirchi and joined Times OOH as National Key Accounts Head. Sujata Bhatt takes over from Bagga as Mirchi’s National Marketing Head. She will be responsible for devising and implementing key marketing strategies at Mirchi.

The Indian Society of Advertisers (ISA) has come down strongly against the multiple tickers, bugs and towers running at the bottom and sides of the TV screen commercial breaks and has confronted the National Broadcasters Association (NBA) on the same. ISA has issued a release order stating that advertisers would not pay for the ads if the tickers are not removed by a given date.

I view the digital media scene in India as ‘early’. There is a certain part of the population that has access to the computer and the phone, but everyone still doesn’t. Computer access needs to be more affordable, and also TV and games more technologically advanced. It needs to become more accessible for everyone and not just part of the population that has access to digital technology, who find it useful.
