Bert Paterson will be the new Managing Director of Aviva Life Insurance in India with effect from September 1, 2006. He will succeed Stuart Purdy who will be moving to Ireland as Deputy Chief Executive of Hibernian Insurance Group. Paterson joined the Aviva Group (General Accident) in 1986. He was appointed CEO, Aviva Turkey, in October 2002. Before moving to Turkey, he was Director, Aviva Europe. Aviva Life Insurance is a joint venture between Dabur and Aviva. It pioneered the concept of Bancassurance in India.

Sahi started his career with Financial Express. He then headed Television International (now defunct). He has also worked with Vinod Dua on Parakh, and worked with IANS as political writer. He was Senior Producer with Star News before joining Channel 7.
