Sony Entertainment Television has appointed Aseem Kapoor as Senior VP, Marketing, for its flagship channel Sony TV. Kapoor is replacing Nina Jaipuria, who recently joined Nick as GM and VP. He will be reporting to Albert Almeida, who has recently taken over as Business Head of the channel.

BBC News has appointed Damian Grammaticas as South Asia Correspondent. He will be based in Delhi and reporting on news stories from South Asia across BBC World television, BBC World Service radio and the BBC News website. Grammaticas has over a decade’s experience reporting for the BBC from various parts of the world. In his previous assignment as the BBC’s Moscow Correspondent, Grammaticas has reported extensively from the countries of the former Soviet Union. Prior to that, he was the BBC’s Hong Kong Correspondent, when he covered stories from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Australia and the Philippines.

Sudha Sadanand, who has been anchoring the news show ‘Upfront’ on Times Now news channel, has resigned to join as Programming Head of the newly launched Big FM’s Delhi station. Sadanand, who has over 12 years’ experience, began her career as a non-fiction book editor with Penguin and later went to join TVI, a bi-lingual television news channel from the Business India group in 1994. She has also done programmes for DD Metro with a production house called APCA (in 1997), managed by former editors of The Times of India, Dileep Padgaonkar and Anikendranath Sen.

Big 92.7 FM has roped in popular radio jockey Simran Kohli to host their flagship show, ‘Nau Baje Ki Setting’. Kohli began her career in 1995 at All India Radio, Delhi with ‘Street Talk 10 show’, which she did for five years. Following that she joined Radio Mirchi Delhi as Programming Head in 2002. After spending three years with the station, Kohli moved to Red FM as Creative Head and as an RJ hosting with the ‘Breakfast Show’. She has also set up a Radio Management Academy.
