He has also been involved as a consultant for various companies including Chanakya Cinemas. Verma was associated with Waves Cinemas as Head of Marketing and Programming for two and a half years.

Singh started his career in 1994 with ‘Get It’ Yellow Pages as District Sales Manager. After that he was associated with Crompton Greaves as Area Sales Manager for a year before moving to Indian Express in 1997.

In a significant shift, cumulative sales of flat CTVs are all set to overtake conventional TVs in '06. Keeping pace with global trends, flat CTV and flat panels, including LCD and plasma, TV volumes in India have trebled this year to hit the 3.5-m mark. The industry expects the contribution of flats to the total CTV market to surge from 45% this year to around 60%.

Following the formation of Network 18, Raghav Bahl, the promoter of Television Eighteen India Ltd, has informed that he would voluntarily relinquish over 10 per cent stake in Network 18 in favour of a Trust. The Trust will hold a 10.56 per cent stake in Network 18. This will bring down Bahl’s shareholding in Network 18 to 51 per cent.
