In a major development in its marketing set-up, LG Electronics has appointed Girish Bapat as Vice President - Marketing. He will be responsible for the overall marketing functions of the consumer durables major. Salil Kapoor, who is the Marketing Head and official spokesperson for the company, has been re-designated as Head of Marketing Services and Brand and will report to Bapat.

Bennett, Coleman & Co, which publishes the Times of India, is all set to invest nearly Rs 100 crore in Videocon Industries. The consumer electronics company has proposed to offer preferential shares to the media firm at a premium. Videocon will place a resolution to this effect at its extra-ordinary general meeting on August 28.
