The 30 per cent rise in print advertising by Hair Remover advertisers comes on the heels of a negative growth of 9 per cent in 2004. Among brands, Reckitt Benckiser’s Veet was the top advertiser. National magazines and Delhi newspapers cornered most of the print advertising in this category.

Breaking away from the traditional approach to advertising in the IT segment, its plans include advertising through vernacular media across the country for its ‘business critical’ HR suite. The company has increased its marketing spends four-fold over the previous year, buoyed by its past success with the ‘different’ approach.

Star Ananda, the month-old 24-hour Bengali news channel, continues to rule viewership in Kolkata and West Bengal. As per TAM ratings for Week 26, the channel has achieved a 52 per cent market share in Kolkata and 49 per cent West Bengal across all news channels.
