Ambikanand Sahay, who was heading the news business of the Sahara Group, including television and print, has resigned. When contacted by exchange4media, Sahay said, “Yes, I have quit as of yesterday.” He refused to divulge any further details.

Handset market at Rs 8,805 cr in FY05?blur=25

The Indian mobile handset market was worth Rs 8,805 crore in '04-05. A lion's share of this - 84% - were GSM handsets at Rs 7,384 crore with Nokia alone accounting for a whopping 62.3% marketshare. According to a report by Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) quoting a Voice & Data report of June 2005, the share of GSM handsets was even higher than the GSM connections which stood at 75% for the same period.

International:  2005 ad spending to increase 3.4 per cent: TNS Media Intelligence report?blur=25

Advertising spending will hit $145.3 billion this year, according to a TNS Media Intelligence forecast presented at the annual AdWatch conference in Manhattan this morning.
