The company, which has primarily been focusing on North India, is now planning to spread across the nation. Comedy on television in India seems to follow a zigzag route. Earlier last year, channels were positive about the genre. However, as the year went by, comedy didn't quite manage the expected mark. The scene seems to be changing again. TAM Media Research indicates that both 'Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai' and 'Instant Khichdi' are the only shows to cross the 1 mark for STAR One and 'Kareena Kareena' giving a consistent 1 plus for Zee TV, as good as the channel driver.

Reader's Digest, which has recently released its 50th anniversary edition, expects to deliver over 40 per cent revenue growth this year. Ajay Shukla, Publishing Director, Reader's Digest, said, "This year has been our strongest year till date. We expect to deliver over 40 per cent revenue growth against last year. There is a growth in paid subscriptions as well as substantial improvements in the market share of advertising revenues. We hope to continue this growth in the coming years."

Insight, a Lintas Media Group agency, has been mandated this week to service two new businesses. Insight will now be responsible to plan, buy and service the media for Cello, a leading player in the writing instruments business, and Torrent Energy, a provider and facilitator for the Ahmedabad and Surat Electricity Boards. The combined billings for the two are pegged at Rs 25 crore.
