Zee Cinema has been telecasting some of the biggest blockbusters of Amitabh Bachchan in a three-month-long festival, titled ‘Shaniwar Ki Raat Amitabh Ke Saath.’ The channel is celebrating the screening of the film ‘Coolie’ with a special set of people – the real life coolies. Across five cities, coolies would be treated to a day of fun, as Zee would air the film on January 8.

The Internet & Online Association (IOA) has found, in a research study on ‘Online Matrimonial Search’, that over four million subscribers find the Internet a viable medium for searching marital partners. The study also shows that while the market size in 2003-04 was worth Rs 6 crore, in 2004-05 it will zoom to Rs 20 crore, and in 2007-08 it is sure to touch Rs 80-crore mark.

Times Internet Ltd, the digital arm of media behemoth Bennett, Coleman & Co Ltd (BCCL), is looking for a strategic equity investor. The company could be diluting up to 20 per cent of its equity. The company is in talks with Yahoo, Rediff and a few financial investors for this deal.

The predominantly English business news channel, named ‘NDTV Profit’, would be launched on January 17. The editorial head of the channel is Vikram Chandra.
