Upping the ante a day before the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is to announce its decision on the telecast rights for all international cricket played in India over the next four years, Subhash Chandra, chairman, Zee Telefilms, said that he was “hundred per cent confident of bagging the telecast rights”. However, he also said that in case Zee did not get the rights “despite being the highest bidder, we will go to court and it will be a fierce battle.”

The latest commercial of Tata Indica to hit the tube is wooing potential coustomers with a test-drive-and-win-an-Indica scheme. The initiative appears to be an attempt attempt to reposition the vehicle as a family car, and shrug off the perception that it is a luxury cab. Company officials however refuse to accept the repositioning argument.

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) consumer durables sector index has outperformed all other sectoral indices in August by a huge margin. The consumer durables index has gained almost 15 per cent while the benchmark BSE Sensex managed to end just 0.42 per cent higher from 5170.32 on July 30 to 5192.08 on August 31.

RPG Netcom is digging in heels for its battle with Zee Telefilms, claiming that it does not owe any money to Zee for feeding its bouquet to subscribers. A day after Zee switched off its bouquet of 17 channels to RPG Netcom, alleging a payment default of nearly Rs 7 crore, RPG Netcom said its subscribers are not likely to miss any of Zee-Turner channels.
