Tata Teleservices announced the launch of its prepaid service on fixed wireless phones (FWP). The customers will be charged a one-time non-refundable registration fee of Rs 2,000 and a deposit of Rs 2,000 towards the LG 340 handset, says a release. In turn, the customer will get two free recharge cards worth Rs 540 each. Each recharge card will have a validity period of 30 days, with an additional 30-day grace period to recharge.

Britain's largest advertising company, WPP, bowed to shareholder pressure yesterday and postponed a vote on an executive pay scheme that could hand Sir Martin Sorrell up to £44m. The group's extraordinary meeting will take place on April 16, nine days later than planned. WPP also agreed to change the performance criteria which could trigger the multimillion-pound windfall for its chief executive.

The new government, when it comes to power within two months, will have to take a call on the issue. The Convergence Bill has been on the backburner for several months now.
