Nominees for Airtel Indian News Broadcasting Awards 2009 announced

Following rigorous rounds of selections, nominees for the Airtel Indian News Broadcasting Awards (INBA) 2009 have been selected. The nominees are for the 11 categories in which entries were invited from news broadcasting professionals. The Airtel INB Awards are being held in the Capital on Wednesday, August 26.

Nominees for Airtel Indian News Broadcasting Awards 2009 announced

Following rigorous rounds of selections by a jury comprising eminent journalists and media stalwarts on August 22, nominees for the Indian News Broadcasting Awards (INBA) 2009 have been selected. The INB Awards are being held in the Capital on August 26, 2009, and will recognise the most deserving achievers in news broadcasting for their outstanding work for the period April 2008-March 31, 2009. The event partner was Encompass.

Tarun Tejpal, Editor-in-Chief, Tehelka, is Chairman of the jury for the INBA 2009. The jury members include GVL Narasimha Rao, psephologist and member of the BJP National Executive Committee; Vinod Bakshi, formerly of the BBC and now on the Board of Zee; Shravan Garg, Editor, Dainik Bhaskar; Kanika Mathur, President - India & SEA, Solutions | Digitas; Counselage’s Suhel Seth; Tarun Rai, CEO, World Wide Media; filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar; Josy Paul, Chairman & National Creative Director, BBDO; G. Narsimha Rao, Supreme Court Advocate, Latika Khaneja, Director of College of Sports management and Ashwini Singla of Genesis Burson-Marsteller.

Commenting on the Awards this year, Jury Chairman Tarun Tejpal said, “The process and the methodology were as robust this year as it was last year. The jury is a high quality one with members from diverse fields and they all have been very interested and have held healthy discussions. There is always scope to refine it further as these are very young awards, and I am sure they will be more refined with each coming year. What we need to concentrate on is that from next year onwards, maybe there could be a more detailed shortlist so that the non-media members of the jury could have a clearer view of things. All in all, I am happy with all the decisions made as they were made on consensus of all the jury members.”

This year, the organisers have decided to increase the categories from 13 to 17 due to overwhelming response from the entire media fraternity. The nominees in all 10 of the Professional Craft award categories and one of the Leadership award categories are listed below. There are no nominees for the other six Leadership awards, the winners of which will be announced at the event on August 26.

Advertising professional and art collector Swapan Seth has announced the launch of his new book COOL. The book is described as "a ready reckoner to the hip and the happening, of the known and the very unknown."

The book is a reflection of the author's "eclectic taste across categories: from boltholes to exotic hideaways."

COOL has been published by Simon & Schuster India and is available on Amazon.

Seth is an ad veteran with a long and illustrious career in the industry. He became the youngest-ever Creative Director at Clarion at age 24. He was VP at 26 at Trikaya Grey. Two years later, he started his agency Equus.

He writes for publications such as The Economic Times, Hindustan Times and India Today. This is his second book and he has previously published THIS IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY.

e4m Staff Disney Star has signed nine broadcast and digital streaming sponsors for the upcoming Asia Cup.

Charged by Thums Up, Nerolac Paint+, Amazon Pay, Jindal Panther, My11Circle, MRF, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, Wild Stone and Thums Up have come on board for the upcoming tournament.
As reported earlier by exchange4media, Disney Star has sought Rs 26 crore for the co-presenting sponsorship on TV and Rs 30 crore for Disney+ Hotstar.

According to industry sources, the associate sponsorship on Star Sports has been priced at Rs 19.66 crore, whereas for the ‘powered by’ sponsorship on Disney+ Hotstar, the broadcaster is seeking Rs 18 crore.

As per the information available with exchange4media, Disney+ Hotstar has three sponsorship tiers-- co-presenting (Rs 30 crore), powered by (Rs 18 crore) and associate sponsorship (Rs 12 crore). The broadcaster is offering an estimated reach of 120-140 million for co-presenting sponsors, 90-100 million for powered by and 60-70 million for associate sponsorship.

A spot buy for 10 seconds has been priced at Rs 25 lakh for the India vs Pakistan matches, while for the non-India matches, the ad rate for 10 second is Rs 2.3 lakh. The India matches plus the final for ODIs has been priced at Rs 17 lakh per 10 seconds.

Asia Cup is scheduled to be held from 30 August, 2023, to September 17, 2023.
