Janmat TV on recruitment spree; Samuel Mathew to head channel’s Special Investigation Team

Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network Ltd’s Janmat TV has recruited more than 150 people for its revamped channel, in the short duration of April to July alone. Samuel Mathew, who initiated the trend of sting operations in India with Tehelka, has joined Janmat TV to head the channel’s Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Janmat TV, the news and current affairs channel from the house of Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network Ltd, has been adding renowned journalists to its team. From April to July alone, the revamped channel has recruited more than 150 people.

Samuel Mathew, who initiated the trend of sting operations in India with Tehelka, has joined Janmat TV. He would be heading Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Janmat. With a team of another six people, Mathew has big plans of stings in the coming days. He has an experience of 10 years in media, having started his journalistic career with Mid Day in 1997. After a short stint with CNN, he worked for Aaj Tak and India TV. Mark Tully has written his biography ‘India in slow motion’.

Rakesh Tripathy has joined Janmat TV as Executive Producer. He has earlier worked with The Times of India, ETV Delhi and ETV UP, Aaj Tak, BBC, India TV and Zee TV. Tripathy brings with him 13 years’ media experience.

Uday Chandra Singh has joined Janmat TV as Associate Executive Producer, and has a work experience of 14years. He comes in from NDTV, where he spent 12 years. He has also earlier worked with Rashtriya Sahara, and was part of journalist Vinod Dua’s ‘Parakh’ team at Doordarshan.

Parag Chhapekar has joined the channel as Editor Entertainment and would be based in Mumbai. He too brings in a work experience of 12 years, and has earlier worked with Alpha Marathi and Star News. He comes to Janmat TV from India TV.

Surender Singh, who has been appointed as Creative Director at Janmat, has a vast experience of over 18 years. A graduate from JJ School of Art, Singh started his career with Lintas Mumbai in 1990 and later moved to Delhi where he worked for brands like Economic Times, India Today, The Telegraph, Aaj Tak, Star News, Zee Sports and India TV.

The team comprises a group of young, dynamic and dedicated journalists who vary from the age group of 28 to 38, and who have a vast experience of having worked in varied renowned organisations,” said Sudhir Chaudhary, CEO and Editor, Janmat TV.

Janmat Tvhas additionally recruited journalists like Ashish Kumar Singh who was Special Correspondent at India TV; Amod Rai who was Principle Correspondent at Zee News; Wahid Ali Khan who was Special Correspondent at India TV is now Mumbai Chief of Bureau; and Sahara’s Shreya Shukla, who has been appointed as Bureau Head of Lucknow at Janmat. Rajesh Asnani has been appointed as Senior Correspondent and Bureau Head for Jaipur, while Bharat Shashtri will serve as Bureau Head for Bhopal. Sanjeev Gupta popularly known as Sanju in the page 3 circle would be working as Entertainment Producer in Janmat. He was earlier with the India Today Group

Abhishek Ray will do the music for the channel. Ray has worked in many TVCs, like those for Dominos Pizza, Dettol, Tata Sumo, SBI Card, Ranbaxy, and the recent Pan Bahar ad. He also scored the music for Bollywood films like ‘Haasil’ and ‘Aahista Aahista’ and the Tamil film ‘Tundil’. Janmat TV has also roped in prominent costume designer Jatin Kocher for the wardrobe, while Javed Habib would be doing the hair styling of the anchors.

Advertising professional and art collector Swapan Seth has announced the launch of his new book COOL. The book is described as "a ready reckoner to the hip and the happening, of the known and the very unknown."

The book is a reflection of the author's "eclectic taste across categories: from boltholes to exotic hideaways."

COOL has been published by Simon & Schuster India and is available on Amazon.

Seth is an ad veteran with a long and illustrious career in the industry. He became the youngest-ever Creative Director at Clarion at age 24. He was VP at 26 at Trikaya Grey. Two years later, he started his agency Equus.

He writes for publications such as The Economic Times, Hindustan Times and India Today. This is his second book and he has previously published THIS IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY.

e4m Staff Disney Star has signed nine broadcast and digital streaming sponsors for the upcoming Asia Cup.

Charged by Thums Up, Nerolac Paint+, Amazon Pay, Jindal Panther, My11Circle, MRF, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, Wild Stone and Thums Up have come on board for the upcoming tournament.
As reported earlier by exchange4media, Disney Star has sought Rs 26 crore for the co-presenting sponsorship on TV and Rs 30 crore for Disney+ Hotstar.

According to industry sources, the associate sponsorship on Star Sports has been priced at Rs 19.66 crore, whereas for the ‘powered by’ sponsorship on Disney+ Hotstar, the broadcaster is seeking Rs 18 crore.

As per the information available with exchange4media, Disney+ Hotstar has three sponsorship tiers-- co-presenting (Rs 30 crore), powered by (Rs 18 crore) and associate sponsorship (Rs 12 crore). The broadcaster is offering an estimated reach of 120-140 million for co-presenting sponsors, 90-100 million for powered by and 60-70 million for associate sponsorship.

A spot buy for 10 seconds has been priced at Rs 25 lakh for the India vs Pakistan matches, while for the non-India matches, the ad rate for 10 second is Rs 2.3 lakh. The India matches plus the final for ODIs has been priced at Rs 17 lakh per 10 seconds.

Asia Cup is scheduled to be held from 30 August, 2023, to September 17, 2023.
