IAA’s India Chapter awarded the 2010 IAA Chapter Excellence Award
The IAA Chapter Excellence Award has been awarded to the International Advertising Association (IAA) Chapter judged to have made the best overall contribution to achieving the aims and objectives of the IAA over the previous two years. This year the award was given to the India Chapter.

The presentation of the 2010 IAA Chapter Excellence Award was announced at the Gala Dinner at the Kremlin Palace Congress Centre during the programme of the 42nd IAA World Congress, Moscow, amidst 1200 delegates from 45 countries on May 12, 2010.
On behalf of the Awards Committee, Pascal Staub - Chairman, IAA Awards Committee 2010 - extended his congratulations to the India Chapter and invited the Chapter Vice President, Kaushik Roy to come up and receive the award.
An official release quoted: “IAA's Executive Director, Michael Lee praised the work the India Chapter had done in the past two years and said he was pleased with the Chapter for making an outstanding contribution to the core values and mission of IAA - in particular, the providing of a forum for international industry debate, advocacy and professional development opportunities and an exceptionally healthy growth in memberships.”
Alan Rutherford Chairman and World President, while presenting the award to Kaushik Roy, Vice President of the IAA India Chapter, said, “The inventiveness shown by the India Chapter is commendable and will, I am sure, resonate to all other chapters so that we can hear about similar initiatives by IAA chapters in other countries.”
The release also Kaushik Roy on “it was the cumulative result of the strong business strategies put in place in the last few years, and their meticulous implementation under the leadership of the Chapter President Mr Raj Nayak, which were beginning to bear fruits now. The chapter has done some tremendous work in the areas of public service, launching the IAA Young professionals, growing the membership base and additionally the Lighting a Billion Lives (LaBL) contest and campaign, which has brought IAA to the forefront with country-wide participation.”
From Mumbai, Raj Nayak, President of the India Chapter, conveyed that he was overjoyed to learn about this award. He said the India Chapter of IAA was instituted nearly 20 years ago, in 1991, with a view to foster a healthy environment for the growth of globalization in the communication industry. This aim was very successfully achieved as the country moved centre forward on the world stage. Slowly but steadily, we knew, more and more top professionals, representing marketing communications and media, aspired to be invited as members.
He said, “In the last two years as President, my colleagues on the Managing Committee and I assiduously worked towards our goal to see our membership growing in direct proportion to our objectives. Our growing high-profile member database the India Chapter of IAA would grow at an even faster pace in the next few years.” He thanked his Managing Committee, especially his Secretary General, Dara Acidwalla, his entire membership and said this award is for them and for the country.
The Chapter Excellence Award (formerly called the Golden Tulip Award) is presented to the IAA Chapter judged to have made the best overall contribution to achieving the aims and objectives of the IAA over the previous two years (2008-2010).
The award was established in 1957 by the IAA Holland Chapter. It was originally presented to the European company recognized for the best international advertising campaign. Then, at an IAA Pan-European meeting in Amsterdam on 22 February 1973, it was decided it would in future be for IAA Chapters in the European Area. From 1980 it was extended to embrace all Chapters worldwide.

Advertising professional and art collector Swapan Seth has announced the launch of his new book COOL. The book is described as "a ready reckoner to the hip and the happening, of the known and the very unknown."
The book is a reflection of the author's "eclectic taste across categories: from boltholes to exotic hideaways."
COOL has been published by Simon & Schuster India and is available on Amazon.
Seth is an ad veteran with a long and illustrious career in the industry. He became the youngest-ever Creative Director at Clarion at age 24. He was VP at 26 at Trikaya Grey. Two years later, he started his agency Equus.
He writes for publications such as The Economic Times, Hindustan Times and India Today. This is his second book and he has previously published THIS IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY.

Disney Star signs 9 sponsors for Asia Cup PAK

e4m Staff Disney Star has signed nine broadcast and digital streaming sponsors for the upcoming Asia Cup.
Charged by Thums Up, Nerolac Paint+, Amazon Pay, Jindal Panther, My11Circle, MRF, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, Wild Stone and Thums Up have come on board for the upcoming tournament.
As reported earlier by exchange4media, Disney Star has sought Rs 26 crore for the co-presenting sponsorship on TV and Rs 30 crore for Disney+ Hotstar.
According to industry sources, the associate sponsorship on Star Sports has been priced at Rs 19.66 crore, whereas for the ‘powered by’ sponsorship on Disney+ Hotstar, the broadcaster is seeking Rs 18 crore.
As per the information available with exchange4media, Disney+ Hotstar has three sponsorship tiers-- co-presenting (Rs 30 crore), powered by (Rs 18 crore) and associate sponsorship (Rs 12 crore). The broadcaster is offering an estimated reach of 120-140 million for co-presenting sponsors, 90-100 million for powered by and 60-70 million for associate sponsorship.
A spot buy for 10 seconds has been priced at Rs 25 lakh for the India vs Pakistan matches, while for the non-India matches, the ad rate for 10 second is Rs 2.3 lakh. The India matches plus the final for ODIs has been priced at Rs 17 lakh per 10 seconds.
Asia Cup is scheduled to be held from 30 August, 2023, to September 17, 2023.
