Encompass, Candid, Wizcraft, Krayons, and Showtime shine at EEMAX Awards
Encompass, Candid, Wizcraft, Krayons, and Showtime walked away with a lion’s share of metals at the first ever EEMAX Awards, held in Agra recently as part of the three-day EEMAGINE 2009 convention. Awards were given to 23 companies in all, from among the 700 entries received from 44 companies.

The three-day EEMAGINE 2009 convention, held in Agra from July 9-12, culminated with the EEMAX Awards, dubbed as the first ever event industry awards. Encompass, Candid, Wizcraft, Krayons, and Showtime walked away with a lion’s share of the Awards. Gold winners included Candid, Wizcraft, Encompass, ShowWorks Eventz, Showtime Events, Cineyug Films, 360 Degrees Experience, Fountainhead Promotions and Events, Percept D’Mark, E-Factor Entertainment, Rachnoutsav Events, and Jagran Solutions. ShowWorks won the Gold metal for the Best Signature Event. The Awards were given to 23 companies in all, from among the 700 entries received from 44 companies.
In all, Encompass won 11 metals; Candid won six metals; and Wizcraft, Krayons and Showtime won five metals each. Candid and Wizcraft both won three Golds each, while Encompass walked away with two Golds. Other Gold winners included ShowWorks Eventz, Showtime Events, Cineyug Films, 360 Degrees Experience, Fountainhead Promotions and Events, Percept D’Mark, E-Factor Entertainment, Rachnoutsav Events, and Jagran Solutions (one Gold each).
The Awards honoured outstanding work in 20 categories, including categories for large-format events like the Best Signature Event, the Best Live Televised Event, the Best Sporting Event and the Best Outdoor and Public Event, plus a host of awards for Product Launch events in various disciplines and several awards for below-the-line events like school contact programs, activation, road-shows and sampling activity. There were also awards for the Best Wedding, the Best Conference, the Best Exhibition Design, the Best Online Activation and three interesting categories – Best 360 degree initiative, Most Effective Delivery on Return on Investment, and Most Creative Use of a Small Budget.
In his welcome note, Michael Menezes, President, EEMA, said, “The important part of any award function is not about winning, but about taking part. Recognising and honouring outstanding work is a great way of encouraging even better work. The biggest award really is the inner satisfaction of achievement and the accomplishment of good work.”
The procedure for selecting the awards was through data and fact collection, a two-tier screening process by an independent jury, which was external to the EEMA panel, and division of the categories by various people screening the entries, depending on their own expertise.
The Winners
Showworks Eventz won the Gold for Best Signature Event; Showtime Events won a Silver in this category, while CS Direkt bagged a Bronze.
Fountainhead Promotions & Events and Bellset Entertainment won the Silver and Bronze, respectively, for the Best Sporting Event. There was no Gold winner in this category.
Showtime Events won both the Gold and had a tie with Bellset Entertainment for the Bronze for the Best Public and Outdoor Event; Showworks Eventz won the Silver.
Cineyug Films and 360 Degrees Experience had a tie for the Gold for the Best Televised Event, whereas DNA Networks took the Silver. Cineyug bagged the Bronze as well.
Wizcraft International Entertainment got the Gold; E18, the Silver; and Fountainhead Promotion and Events, the Bronze for the Best Event Property.
Krayons Entertainment won the Silver, while Candid Marketing got the Bronze for the Best FMCG Product Launch. There was no Gold in this category.
Marketing Solutions won the Silver, while Encompass Events won the Bronze for the Best Automobile and CD Product Launch. There was no Gold for this category.
Wizcraft International Entertainment won the Gold, Fountainhead won the Silver, and Percept D’Mark won the Bronze for Best Services and IT Product Launch.
Fountainhead Promotions and Event won the Gold, Wizcraft International Entertainment and E 18 won the Silver, while Phase 1 Events and Entertainment won two Bronze metals for the Best Other Product Launches.
Percept D’Mark and Candid Marketing won the Gold for Best Integrated Solutions, while Encompass Events won the Silver, and Showtime Events won the Bronze.
Showtime Events won the Silver for Best Conference and Impresario Event Management took home the Bronze.
E-factor Entertainment and Rachnoutsav Events won the Gold for Best Wedding, and Seventy Event Management Group won both the Silver and the Bronze.
The Best Exhibition Silver went to Encompass Events, while 360 Degree Experience won the Bronze.
Best Environment Initiative Gold went to Encompass Events, Silver to Wizcraft, and Bronze to Krayons Entertainment.
Wizcraft won the Gold for Best Road Show of the Year, Encompass got both the Silver and the Bronze, and Impressario Event Management got a Bronze, too.
Encompass won the Gold for Best Mall Promotion, Candid Marketing won the Silver and Vibgyor Brand Services won the Bronze.
Candid Marketing won the Gold for Best Consumer Activation Programme, and Encompass Events won the Silver and Bronze both for this category.
Candid Marketing won the Gold for Best School Contact Program, Krayons Entertainment won two Silver medals for this, and Encompass Events took away the Bronze.
Jagran Solutions won the Gold for the Most Effective Delivery on Return of Investments. Encompass got the Silver and Candid got the Bronze medal.
Krayons won the Silver for Most Creative Use of a Small Budget, while Jagran Solutions won both the Silver and Bronze for this category.
The award function saw a laser light dance and other performances from artists who had come from the Shiamak Davar Dance Academy. Celebrities who were present at the event included Sharon Prabhakar and a video conference with ad guru Alyque Padamsee.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, corporate games were held, where various agencies’ teams came together to play cricket. The Chennai team, comprising five people from three different agencies – Aura, Showspace, and Innovations – won this event.
The various participating agencies were also taken for a visit to the Taj Mahal.

Advertising professional and art collector Swapan Seth has announced the launch of his new book COOL. The book is described as "a ready reckoner to the hip and the happening, of the known and the very unknown."

COOL has been published by Simon & Schuster India and is available on Amazon.
Seth is an ad veteran with a long and illustrious career in the industry. He became the youngest-ever Creative Director at Clarion at age 24. He was VP at 26 at Trikaya Grey. Two years later, he started his agency Equus.
He writes for publications such as The Economic Times, Hindustan Times and India Today. This is his second book and he has previously published THIS IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY.

Disney Star signs 9 sponsors for Asia Cup PAK

e4m Staff Disney Star has signed nine broadcast and digital streaming sponsors for the upcoming Asia Cup.
Charged by Thums Up, Nerolac Paint+, Amazon Pay, Jindal Panther, My11Circle, MRF, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, Wild Stone and Thums Up have come on board for the upcoming tournament.
As reported earlier by exchange4media, Disney Star has sought Rs 26 crore for the co-presenting sponsorship on TV and Rs 30 crore for Disney+ Hotstar.
According to industry sources, the associate sponsorship on Star Sports has been priced at Rs 19.66 crore, whereas for the ‘powered by’ sponsorship on Disney+ Hotstar, the broadcaster is seeking Rs 18 crore.
As per the information available with exchange4media, Disney+ Hotstar has three sponsorship tiers-- co-presenting (Rs 30 crore), powered by (Rs 18 crore) and associate sponsorship (Rs 12 crore). The broadcaster is offering an estimated reach of 120-140 million for co-presenting sponsors, 90-100 million for powered by and 60-70 million for associate sponsorship.
A spot buy for 10 seconds has been priced at Rs 25 lakh for the India vs Pakistan matches, while for the non-India matches, the ad rate for 10 second is Rs 2.3 lakh. The India matches plus the final for ODIs has been priced at Rs 17 lakh per 10 seconds.
Asia Cup is scheduled to be held from 30 August, 2023, to September 17, 2023.
