Creative Abbys update: More finalists announced

Even as Goafest 2012 festival is underway, finalists of the Integrated, Digital and Mobile, OOH, Print Craft, Print, Radio and Radio Craft categories of Creative Abbys have been announced. Finalists of the Ambient, Design, Direct, Film Craft, and Film categories were announced on April 18.

Print category
In all, 158 entries are finalists in the Print category. Leading this list is DDB Mudra with 39 entries among the finalists. Taproot India has 19 entries, closely followed by Leo Burnett with 18 entries. Ideas@work and Ogilvy India have 15 entries and 12 entries, respectively. TBWA\ India features in the list with nine entries, while JWT India has eight entries in the Print category. Grey India and BBDO India have six entries each, followed by Contract Advertising that has five entries. Meridian Communications, Publicis Communications, Makani Creatives, Rediffusion Y&R and Out of the Box have found a place among the finalists with three entries each. Two of BBH’s entries have made it to the list. Chirpy Elephant, RK Swamy BBDO, Draft FCB Ulka and M&C Saatchi have one entry each.

Print Craft category
The Print Craft category comprises139 finalists. DDB Mudra leads once again with 32 of its entries among the finalists. Ideas@work has with 23 entries, Taproot India has 19 entries, followed by Leo Burnett with 18 entries. Ogilvy India has 10 entries in the list. Six of BBDO India’s entries are among the finalists, while Amol Jadhav Photography has five entries. TBWA\India has four entries that have made it to the list. BBH, Deelip Khomane, Gopal MS and Mukul Raut have three entries each. Two entries each of PerceptH, Chirpy Elephant and Contract Advertising also feature among the finalists, along with one entry each from Rediffusion Y&R, Grey India and XOX Design.

Out of Home category
The OOH category sees 120 entries among the finalists. There is a special section in this category for South Asian agencies. Phoenix Ogilvy (Sri Lanka) has six entries among the finalists, while Publicis Solutions (Sri Lanka) has four entries among the finalists. Leading the list in the OOH category is Ogilvy India with 22 entries, closely followed by Leo Burnett with 21 entries. Taproot India has 14 entries among the finalists, while BBDO India and JWT India have nine entries each. Seven entries of DDB Mudra have also made it to the list, along with five entries of Out of the Box, and four entries each of ideas@work and Publicis Communications. Grey India has three entries, while two entries each of Contract Advertising, TBWA\India, 1PointSize and Draft FCB Ulka have made it to the list. Crayons Advertising, Meridian Communications, Pickle Advertising, and Creativeland Asia have one entry each among the finalists.

Digital and Mobile category
Digital and Mobile category has a total of 71 entries. Maxus leads with 11 entries among the finalists. Webchutney, Ogilvy India and Grey India have eight entries each. Wunderman International and Digitas India have three entries each, while AgencyDigi Communications, Creativeland Asia, DDB Mudra, Interface Business, SapientNitro India, Publicis Communications and GroupM Dialogue Factory have two entries each in the list. One entry each of BC Web Wise, Indigo Consulting, Media2Win, Experience Commerce, Digital Law & Kenneth, Pinstorm Technologies, Hungama Digital Media, BBDO India, Jack in the Box, Geek Creative, Contract Advertising, Viacom18 Media and Eleven Brandworks have made it to the list in the Digital and Mobile category.

Integrated category
The Integrated category has 31 finalists. Ogilvy India and Taproot India have five entries each in this list, followed by Creativeland Asia with four entries. Contract Advertising, DDB Mudra and Leo Burnett have three entries each among the finalists, while JWT India and BBDO India have two entries each. Ideas@work, Scarecrow, BBH India and Cheil India have one entry each among the finalists.

Radio category
Radio category has 54 finalists. Leo Burnett leads with 16 entries among the finalists, followed by Ogilvy India with 13 entries. Grey India and JWT India have five entries each, while Contract Advertising, DDB Mudra and BBDO India have four entries each. Taproot India has two entries in the list, while Alok Nanda & Company has one entry among the finalists.

Radio Craft category
There are 11 finalists in the Radio Craft category. Lingo India has six entries, followed by JWT India with four entries and Side Show Films with one entry.

Advertising professional and art collector Swapan Seth has announced the launch of his new book COOL. The book is described as "a ready reckoner to the hip and the happening, of the known and the very unknown."

The book is a reflection of the author's "eclectic taste across categories: from boltholes to exotic hideaways."

COOL has been published by Simon & Schuster India and is available on Amazon.

Seth is an ad veteran with a long and illustrious career in the industry. He became the youngest-ever Creative Director at Clarion at age 24. He was VP at 26 at Trikaya Grey. Two years later, he started his agency Equus.

He writes for publications such as The Economic Times, Hindustan Times and India Today. This is his second book and he has previously published THIS IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY.

e4m Staff Disney Star has signed nine broadcast and digital streaming sponsors for the upcoming Asia Cup.

Charged by Thums Up, Nerolac Paint+, Amazon Pay, Jindal Panther, My11Circle, MRF, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, Wild Stone and Thums Up have come on board for the upcoming tournament.
As reported earlier by exchange4media, Disney Star has sought Rs 26 crore for the co-presenting sponsorship on TV and Rs 30 crore for Disney+ Hotstar.

According to industry sources, the associate sponsorship on Star Sports has been priced at Rs 19.66 crore, whereas for the ‘powered by’ sponsorship on Disney+ Hotstar, the broadcaster is seeking Rs 18 crore.

As per the information available with exchange4media, Disney+ Hotstar has three sponsorship tiers-- co-presenting (Rs 30 crore), powered by (Rs 18 crore) and associate sponsorship (Rs 12 crore). The broadcaster is offering an estimated reach of 120-140 million for co-presenting sponsors, 90-100 million for powered by and 60-70 million for associate sponsorship.

A spot buy for 10 seconds has been priced at Rs 25 lakh for the India vs Pakistan matches, while for the non-India matches, the ad rate for 10 second is Rs 2.3 lakh. The India matches plus the final for ODIs has been priced at Rs 17 lakh per 10 seconds.

Asia Cup is scheduled to be held from 30 August, 2023, to September 17, 2023.
