Creative Abbys 2014: Taproot bags 21 metals; Grand Prix for JWT, Alok Nanda & Co

Creative Abby Awards were given away in nine categories on Day Two of Goafest 2014 - Branded Content, Direct, Design, OOH, Ambient, Print Craft, Public Relations, Brand Activation & Promotion, and Broadcaster.

Taproot India has bagged 21 metals, which includes three Golds, eight Silvers and 10 Bronzes. The agency has bagged one Gold each in the Design, OOH and Print Craft categories.

JWT India follows close behind with 20 metals, which includes a Grand Prix in the Direct category. The agency has also bagged four Gold, eight Silver and seven Bronze metals. JWT has bagged two Golds in the Print Craft category, while the other two Gold awards are in the Brand Activation & Promotion category.

Branded Content

In Branded Content category, Digital Law & Kenneth has bagged three metals, which includes two Golds and a Silver. Madison has won three Silvers. MTV India takes home a Gold and a Bronze. Milestone Brandcom and Contract take home a Gold each.

Direct

JWT has bagged a Grand Prix in Direct category. The agency has also won a Bronze. PHD India is the sole Gold winner in this category. Taproot India takes home two Silvers and a Bronze.

Design

Alok Nanda & Company has won a Grand Prix in Design category. The agency also takes home two Gold, one Silver and one Bronze metal. Umbrella has bagged three Gold and two Silver metals. Taproot India’s metals tally includes one Gold, one Silver and two Bronzes.

OOH

JWT has bagged seven metals in OOH category, which includes three Silver and four Bronze metals. Taproot has won a Gold and two Silvers. FCB Ulka takes home one Gold, one Silver and one Bronze.

Ambient

In the Ambient category, Alok Nanda & Company and DDB Mudra Group have bagged a Gold each. Webchutney Studio takes home one Gold and one Bronze metal. Taproot has won a Silver, while Publicis, Brand Movers and Milestone Brandcom have bagged one Bronze each.

Print Craft

Taproot leads the metals tally in the Print craft category, which includes one Gold, one Silver and seven Bronze metals. JWT has bagged two Golds, one Silver and two Bronzes. Ideas@work takes home two Silvers and two Bronzes. Umbrella Design has won one Gold, one Silver and one Bronze. Kukooness has bagged a Gold.

Public Relations

In the Public Relations category, Adfactors has won one Silver and four Bronze metals. MSL Group takes home three Silvers and one Bronze. Madison World has won one Gold, one Silver and one Bronze. Publicis has won one Gold and one Bronze. IBS and Paradigm Plus Marketing Communication have won one Gold each.

Brand Activation & Promotion

JWT and Candid Marketing lead the list in the Brand Activation & Promotion category with three metals each. JWT’s tally includes two Goldsw and one Silver, while Candid has won one Gold, one Silver and one Bronze. Havas Worldwide takes home one Silver and one Bronze. DDB Mudra Group, too, has won one Silver and one Bronze.

Broadcaster

In the newly introduced Broadcaster category, STAR India has bagged eight metals, which include one Gold, three Silvers and four Bronzes. MSM’s metals tally includes one Gold, three Silvers, and two Bronzes. Star Sports takes home two Gold and one Silver metal. Colors has bagged one Silver and four Bronzes.

Advertising professional and art collector Swapan Seth has announced the launch of his new book COOL. The book is described as "a ready reckoner to the hip and the happening, of the known and the very unknown."

The book is a reflection of the author's "eclectic taste across categories: from boltholes to exotic hideaways."

COOL has been published by Simon & Schuster India and is available on Amazon.

Seth is an ad veteran with a long and illustrious career in the industry. He became the youngest-ever Creative Director at Clarion at age 24. He was VP at 26 at Trikaya Grey. Two years later, he started his agency Equus.

He writes for publications such as The Economic Times, Hindustan Times and India Today. This is his second book and he has previously published THIS IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY.

e4m Staff Disney Star has signed nine broadcast and digital streaming sponsors for the upcoming Asia Cup.

Charged by Thums Up, Nerolac Paint+, Amazon Pay, Jindal Panther, My11Circle, MRF, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, Wild Stone and Thums Up have come on board for the upcoming tournament.
As reported earlier by exchange4media, Disney Star has sought Rs 26 crore for the co-presenting sponsorship on TV and Rs 30 crore for Disney+ Hotstar.

According to industry sources, the associate sponsorship on Star Sports has been priced at Rs 19.66 crore, whereas for the ‘powered by’ sponsorship on Disney+ Hotstar, the broadcaster is seeking Rs 18 crore.

As per the information available with exchange4media, Disney+ Hotstar has three sponsorship tiers-- co-presenting (Rs 30 crore), powered by (Rs 18 crore) and associate sponsorship (Rs 12 crore). The broadcaster is offering an estimated reach of 120-140 million for co-presenting sponsors, 90-100 million for powered by and 60-70 million for associate sponsorship.

A spot buy for 10 seconds has been priced at Rs 25 lakh for the India vs Pakistan matches, while for the non-India matches, the ad rate for 10 second is Rs 2.3 lakh. The India matches plus the final for ODIs has been priced at Rs 17 lakh per 10 seconds.

Asia Cup is scheduled to be held from 30 August, 2023, to September 17, 2023.
