Mint launches Ahmedabad edition today; more editions on the anvil?blur=25

Mint, the business daily from HT Media Ltd, has forayed into Ahmedabad with a new edition today, July 13, 2010, exactly a year after the launch of its Chennai edition. With the launch of this edition, Mint will now be available not just in Ahmedabad, but in Baroda, Rajkot, Surat and Gandhinagar as well.

HT fortifies presence in NCR, launches Gurgaon edition today?blur=25

In a bid to further strengthen its presence in the National capital Region, Hindustan Times has launched its Gurgaon edition, which hit the newsstands on July 12 2010. Priced at Rs 3, Hindustan Times’s Gurgaon edition will focus on news and issues of Gurgaon. HT Media Ltd is looking at other NCR zones for expansion in the near future.

The booklet deals with personal finance and will cover one topic of interest each time it is published. However, the frequency is not decided as yet. The topic for the first issue was Mutual Funds.

The Telegraph launches Orissa edition today?blur=25

The first issue of the Orissa edition of The Telegraph hits the newsstands on June 28, 2010. This is the first expansion of The Telegraph in terms of foraying into a new state in a decade. The Orissa edition is priced at Rs 3.50 on weekdays and Rs 5 on Sundays and is expected to help the daily further strengthen its foothold in the eastern region.

The Kolkata High Court on June 16 granted an interim injunction, restraining UTV News Ltd and UTV Global Broadcasting Ltd from continuing with an ad campaign they had come out with recently for business news channel Bloomberg UTV. The petition was filed against the group by HT Media Ltd, which alleged that the ads released by Bloomberg UTV bore a striking resemblance to the ads for its business daily Mint.
